Night walk
It was dark, moody night when brave cryo decide to go hunt. Honey tracked an herd of deer, dangerous prey that could fight back but it was worth the risk. He was hungry, so hungry. He had to eat and the darkness around him gave him advantage. Even though, it was his first time in that forest. Didn't know any of trees around, didn’t know any bushes and what hides underneath their leaves.
And didn't know, that this forest is protected by giant hidden in the night sky, already stalking his brave steps.
Honey lives on more savannah like plains, with few trees and tall grass to hide in. However, local sucho’s started their annual territory battles, dealing with each other and all of those poor crocs that dares to step to close to an angry dinosaur. He didn't want any of it, and besides, getting water there would be next to impossible due to those darn fish eaters and their loooud battles that scared off any of prey. He didn’t had a choice other to go into unknown forest. He knew he could deal with utahs, maybe not big pack but one or two could be easily delt with. The forest was also too dense for therisinos, styras and pachy’s probably moved to more rocky habitats. At least that how he thinks, not that he even met any of those. Just some basic deductions. But even, even if they were here, all scary, he could deal with them! He’s sure of it! Its night after all and he is delusional enough to thinks that he can hide in greenery of this dense forest.
Now, other then utah he didnt think that he could met other dinosaurs. Anteos stayed on savannah, he never met oher cryo and the forest was too dense for other big carnivores to appear. It was a perfect night! And while he was thinking all of that, he finally stamped upon the herd he was after.
Crouching in bushes he watched them. He may be hungry, but if he can he would love to avoid antlers in his chest thank you. So he watched the females with their younglings, eating grass on small meadow. Fawns seemed to be a bit grown up already but still stayed next to heir moms, happily jumping around and try to drink milk, even if they were too big for that. They seemed strong, all of the herd looked like that.. except one doe. She was elderly, slower then the rest and whats even better: she was limping. Not much but enough for her to not be able to run away while chased. Perfect meal. Honey barely hold his excitement at that sight, walking through bushes with as small sound possible. He had to wait for the perfect moment, where she walks just this tiny bit away from herd, where she is too close to bushes then she should. So close, so close. Calm down Honey, calm down! Wait, wait…
There.
Honey jumped from the bushes right into the meadow. All of the herd reacted instantly, jumping quickly away into the forest. All of it, except the elderly doe. Maybe her hearing was bad, or maybe she was blind. He doesn't care, easier meal for him. He ran at her, mouth wide open, claws ready to rip her delicate body apart. Already feeling the blood and meat over his tongue… but in the last second he realized that something wasn’t normal. She stood there, eyes covered by darkness but didn't looked at him. He saw stars in her eyes and the next thing he knew was pain.
His body got yoinked up, doe suddenly becoming smaller as he move higher. He tried to fight it but the attacker didn't wait long before simply throwing him at the tree.
With whine he hitted the hard bark and slide down onto ground. It hurts, his back legs went limp from shock or pain. He tries to get up with his arms but he stopped and just looked. Now his eyes big and dark as he looked into night sky, and it looked back at him too. A giant, covered in stars and dark night clouds, looked at him with his bright blue eyes. Like a moon, judging his animalistic urges.
Giant stood there unmoving before lowering his head and gently brushed over elderly doe head. They knew each other, that was for sure. Poor cryo, panting and trying to wiggle away just for the beast to walk up to him. Lowering his head, bearing out his teeth. He saw acro before, they tend to visit his homeland and boss everyone around. All of them were mean, bloodthirsty and… much smaller then this one! He couldnt tell if its due to night or if this acro truly was such massive beast. His fur blue like a night, covered by dark clouds and sprinkled with white stars. His stomach and neck light blue and head painted with war paints like markings. Everything in blue hues, even the weird pattern on his head was like trails of stars, light nearly as his stomach. Giant beast, with eyes like sapphires, focused on him. He must have been heavy and loud! How did he sneak up on him?? He had to hear it walking, thats not fair!
His thoughts were rudely interrupted by,, act of kindness?
The beast slowly nudged his stomach, Honey was already prepared to die but,, that didn’t happen. Strange acro pushed him up, as if to check if he still can walk. Honey basically laid down on his head, holding to it with big confusion. Then, whats more unexpected, he heard a voice.
— For all the pain i caused, i do not meant to harm you, little creature, but don't expect my apologies. — Acro, seeing that Honey is able to stand on his own (with massive shock), straighten up to look at him. — You tried to hunt those who aren't yours, in the forest that you don't even know. I never seen you here before, you didn't asked for permission.
Honey looked up at him and, with probably too much adrenaline in his veins, he decided to get pissy.
— And why would i ask for permission? Never told me this forest is someone territory, or that you acros are such jerks—
He stopped himself while gazing in the beast eyes. It wasn't happy. he could tell by the slow rumbling shaking the earth he stands on. Or was it just his imagination??
Acro looked around and so did Honey. He see the herd coming back here, hiding in the trees, watching. The perfect time to hunt, this dark and moody night. But he wasn't the hunter, he never was and that realization scared him. With much less breaveness, he looked up into the beast eyes. It spoke again
— Dont ever go into those woods again, little thing, for i am one with the night and i saw every little sin you made. I am the guardian of this herd, of those trees, of those stars as my name is Nightwalker.. Don’t pick a fight with me or my herd ever again or the darkness will be the last thing your eyes ever seen.
It very much as a threat that Honey did not enjoyed. Not even a little! He gulped and lowered his head, as to ask for forgiveness. Now he was limping, he was slow. He moved with sparks of pain, glancing behind himself at that damn doe. She watched him too, eyes as dark as before. There was something strange about this place and he didn't want to test his luck. Maybe the suchos wont be so bad? At least he will hear another arguments over some stupid things like, who dared to kicked whose rock. He walk back into the forest, all eyes were on him but when he look behind, the Nightwalker was gone. Maybe it was just his head, maybe it was this tiredness in his eyes. Maybe he just gone insane due to this,,
dark, gloomy night.
My another attempt at lit! Its so fun actually lol
