The sound of flapping wings echoed throughout the air as a clicking and clacking of a beak followed soon after along with footsteps who were moving quickly across the sand as brown scales followed by deep red eyes took in around him taking a sniff down at the sandy beach before leaning back up and letting out a friendly growl to the large trope who went by Myrlo, Kajes shaking the water from her scales. As heavier footsteps caught up from behind them as Rocket, a large sucho with spotted black feathers and deep red eyes grumbled looking at the other two as he stepped forwards his eyes adjusting to the dark surroundings, the three out on a night hunt for some small critters that were known as Bats. 

“Myrlo do you even know where to find the bats out here, I don’t remember those little flying things liking the open and I am pretty sure Rocket is getting hungrier by the minute” Kajes said as he looked around before looking at the large sucho who had annoyed look on his face, spotting nothing but a blank sky that shimmered with stars. Kajes often followed Myrlo and Rocket was just an add-on this time as the old sucho had much more experience and often followed Myrlo as well when he had some intel on where the bats were during the night time.

“We are almost there Kajes and besides Rocket always trust me, I promise two will be full soon, I saw the little bats flying around here recently” the trope clacked with his beak before flying ahead with Kajes shaking his head before following behind quickly with his pace getting faster, with Rocket behind taking in the nice night sky which made the midnight hunt adventure all worth it to him.

“Myrlo how much further I am starting to not believe your winged head of yours, There better be bats out here I am getting more hunger by the second” Rocket growled before passing Kajes who was to busy exploring the beach and what it had to offer during the night time, the young sucho on his first bat hunt in his life time so this was all new to him.

Myrlo flew ahead as he scouted the air for the small furry flyers as he honed in a coastal cave that had a large gaped mouth that looked like a large pair of jaws with Myrlo flying towards it as Kajes and Rocket followed quickly, they had a found the area and now the carnivores with empty stomachs it was time for some carnage and Mylro was leading the pack to the feeding grounds.

“They should be in this cave, I saw them here earlier but there is a lot for us to hunt!” The trope said before landing on the ground shaking out his wings, waiting for Rocket to take the lead as Kajes followed his every movement forwards. The real leader was now at the front as his red eyes scanned the front of the cave getting ready to walk into the darkness if it was one thing he knew for sure is that bats loved the darkness which made hunting them tricky but Rocket had the experience, and well Myrlo could fly while Kajes would be a extra set of jaws.

Entering the cave Rocket kept a low profile as Kajes and Myrlo followed slowly behind, the cave was dark and damp holding a cooling breeze to it as it was dark but easy to see a bit, they needed to be quiet so that the bats wouldn’t hear them as they were quick to spook at the slightest sound.

“Keep low as they are quick to flee, kajes you go up ahead I’ll wait at the entrance and catch the ones who come out last and Mylro can handle the air” Rocket said instructing the two as Kajes nodded before heading in keeping his head low as his spines on his back rattled slightly with his movements.

“I hope I don’t mess this up for Rocket and Mylro” he said to himself before looking around in the dark cave with a nod from Mylro to start the hunt, and off it was Kajes let out a roar before snapping his jaws upward causing a uproar of wings and screeches from the now alive walls that were filled with bats.

Kajes kept himself low while he stalked around deeper into the cave as the sound of movement echoed filling the air, bats were a rare food source on the island so when they were around most carnivores tried to jump on them when they could they made a great late night snack for most. Now Deeper snapping his jaws to uproar the bats from their hiding places and it was working as bats started to move letting out hisses and screeches as they came off the wall flying past kajes.

“Now start grabbing them! Myrlo and Kajes” Rocket roared before letting out a cackle as he saw the flurry of bats start to make their way to the entrance of the cave.

A flurry of bats began scattering in the cave as Rocket held the entrance snapping various bats in his large jaws as Mylro tackled the much smaller ones out of the air with his beak, leaving Kajes to try and grab ones that flew past him

Which a couple did and he managed to snap them up, the hunting ground was now alive and some bats were making it out but most found themselves in the jaws of the three carnivores who raided the cave.

The three kept snagging one bat after another as they flew to the entrance with most getting past the three but some not being so lucky and Kajes was having the time of his life hunting bats as he watched Mylro flap in the air grabbing the much slower bats.

“Isn’t this fun boys, they make such great snacks keep on catching them we will have a big stash by the end of tonight” which made the group laugh as they piled up bats into a large pile on the cave floor, with Mylro landing down with the ones he had caught in the air. With Kajes joining the two of them at the large pile they had made of the bats which now were cleared out of the cave and everything was quiet.

“Well dig in Kajes and Mylro, these things are great to eat lots of meat” Rocket said as he laid down on the ground before taking a few into his jaws before digging in as Kajes and Mylro followed as well.

“This was so fun, and they are super good Rocket. How did you know about this” Kajes said, wanting to learn from him which had him excited along with Myrlo sitting down and enjoying his fill of the bats.

“Me and Mylro did this a lot when we were younger, always served a great time out for us” Rocket said before letting out a smile as Mylro nodded at the three enjoying their hard hunted meal for the night. It was definitely a different way of hunting but it served its purpose.
