Neve x Big Bertha
The snow crunched, and talons rushed through the white lands. An angry snort, and a honk like snarl as the Carnotaurus charged forward. Lunging out moments before a deadly rock would have tripped the long legged carnivore. Horns caught a hold of the small, fuzzy creature, who let out a squeal as it flew into the air. Only for it to land in large, sharp teeth as they crushed down onto the bone and spine. Huffing, Neve turned and started to trot back, her tail swaying as she watched her breath puff out of her nose. The young female happily and carefully, made her way through the tree’s, and towards the rocky slopes of the mountain. Entering the clearing once again, and happily strutting up towards the cave.
Once at the entrance, a happy trill of grunts, and gurgles could be heard as she happily announced her presence. Her calls are returned by a low rumble from the back of the cave. Just waking up at midday again? Oh bertha.. Neve trotted inside, her talons clicking the ground and stone, finally glad to be off the snow. Approaching the large, brown lump. Leaning her head down, and gently brushing her forehead and horns against the large pile of feathers, as she got to the beast's head. She stopped and dropped the small rabbit. “A gift for you!” The carno cooed, and cuffed, nuzzling the Acrocanthosaurus gently on the top of her muzzle and snout. Careful to not catch her horns against her eyes.
“For me? How sweet little snowflake” The apex extended her jaws wide open, gusts of air leaving as the female let out a large yawn. Shaking her head once finished and blinking a couple times, before gently grabbing the small prey, the snack. And scarfed down quickly, turning her head to watch as the white and blue smaller predator rubbed against her body and feathers. Grunting, she slowly started to get up, stretching herself out in response to just waking up. “Lets go to the creek?” Big Bertha suggested. Neve, before she answered, was already prancing for the exit. “Of course!”. The Duo walked back into the light, Neve wasn’t hindered, already adjusted to the light, Bertha was not just adjusted, stopping momentarily to blink, blink, blink. Her eyes, light pink, sensitive, had a harder time. Once she could see, neve was standing ahead of her, waiting.
The small carno cuffed, hearing her partner cuff in return and stomp after her. Turning to once again, strut forward to lead the way. Hopping over logs, rocks, and carefully stepping over obstacles. Avoiding possibly causing damage to her legs. Bertha, on the other hand, just cruised through. She had no issues pushing past the shrubs and small rocks. Being much more sturdy and beefy than the smaller Carnotaurus. Both feathered beasts stopped once they got to the creek, Bertha stomped on the ice, breaking the frozen water and allowing their drinks. Once it was open, they bent down to gently lap at the water.
Neve, while getting her sips and trying to not splash Bertha, spotted something, looking down and lunging face forward to sink her head into the shallow water. Bertha stumbles backwards with a worried cry. “Neve?” That swaying tail was a good sign the silly carno was calm, but she was a bit worried sense she knew her partner has had a bad past with water before. Perhaps it was the depth that didn't cause fear?
Raising back to the surface, neve shook her head out, her feathers viscously flying everywhere. Before she stepped around the hole and held up, a shiny rock with bright red sparkles all over it. Cuffing again with the rock between her jaws. “Aww, you dope..” Big Bertha cooed and gently collected the rock from the other. It felt odd, but she didn't mind.. Probably just cold. After a couple more moments spent at the creek, the two stopped back by the cave to store the rock in the nest. And back out into the hunting grounds again. Well, scavenging grounds, Bertha never truly hunted unless it was too old to fight back or run. She wasn't against it, she was just lazy. After a while of wandering, the Acrocanthsaurus spotted movement, crouching down and slowly approaching the bush and looking over it, before neve could blink the apex had rushed over the bush and let out a terrifying bellow. The frightened cries of poor cyros could be heard fleeing the scene.
Only following once the friendly cuff could be heard, neve rushed over. Bertha holding the dead half eaten cow. “Stealing again?” “It's esier!” the muffled response huffed as Big Bertha stomped towards neve, crunching the snow under her weight. Dropping the kill. “It's my first gift to you!” “first?” “I have to catch up,” Bertha hummed, and sat down. “Now eat” Neve rolled her eyes and chuckled, before reaching down to share the meal with the others.
After breakfast, the two were exploring outside of their territory. Bertha was following the scent of something with her head hung low. Neve wasn't paying a lot of attention, not till she heard a loud snap, and quickly turned her head. Eyes wide, as she watched Bertha, who now held a branch in her jaws. In the end? A frozen over bee hive. Ice encased it, as if it froze completely and the bugs didn't escape. Tilting her head, the other placed it on the ground. “Fancy frozen honey treat?” Bertha smirked, showing her long sharp, toothy teeth. Neves' face flushed, snorting in response. “You won't get away with this!” Neve responded, leaning down and headbutting the frozen bee hive. Yelping as she hit her head. Bertha laughed. “Your let me help you with your gift” the larger female hummed, clasping her jaws around the frozen hive and snapping it with the force of her jaws. Allowing the smaller carnivore to lap up the frozen honey shards.
Neve couldn't allow Big Bertha to best her with her gifts! She would have to keep looking throughout the day! But.. she can have this win for now.. Bertha looked happy, sitting there all proud and smug.. No wonder she loved this beast.
