Quick movements as the slashing of claws against scales and feathers with narrowed eyes and toothy grins followed by the sound of a large thud and feathers flew in the air, along with the scraping of scales against the hardened icy ground before a voice spoke, as eyes watched from afar.

“Get up Soul, you need to train more your fighting is sloppy” a large feathered utahraptor said as he circled the black and white scaled utah with pale eyes who laid on the ground, it was Soul’s dad Anubis along with another utahraptor who went by the name of Yuma, the pack was training for the next year to come as they wanted to be in tip top shape due to the changes that were always happening on the island. Anubis was well educated in the dangers and what training it took to survive on the island and he decided that Soul and Yuma needed some extra training and during the cold season always made it much harder and rougher for them.

“You know Anubis we aren’t ever going to train properly if you beat us to death, look at her already” Yuma said as she stood up ruffling her feathers out and shaking her collar that sat around her neck, before she jumped down and looked at Soul who was getting up from the harsh blow from Anubis who simply smirked at Soul which was met with a low growl. Getting to her feet she shook her head as wet snow slid off her scale as dried blood stained the Souls white scales due to being pushed and flipped to the ground so many times by her father.

“We need to train Yuma the other packs are only getting stronger, besides it is just scratches doesn’t hurt plus I am sure my father has done much worse then this throughout my life” Soul sneered at Yuma who was just dusting herself off to join the training which it was about time as the feathered utahraptor only was watching up until this point, with Anubis watching the two before grinning at them and speaking in a rough voice.

“Enough bickering you both are sloppy and I think it’s time you both take me on at once, besides it’s just training and I could use the training as well for my old bones to prepare for next year I have been slacking a little bit mind you” Anubis said as he prepared for Yuma and Souls attacks with the two females nodding and began circling the older utahraptor with Soul going behind and Yuma taking the front.

With quick movements Soul nodded to Yuma and leaped forwards and towards Anubis’s backside with her claws at the ready as Yuma lunged forwards, but Anubis was quicker then the two as he side stepped Soul who hit the ground hard jaws first and blocked Yuman with his razor sharp claws which sent her feathers flying as she dodged backwards before growling at Soul.

“Get up Soul don’t just sit there close in it’s the only way we will be able to close in on him” Yuma said as she locked claws with Anubis holding him down to the ground, as Soul stood up shaking the snow off her and listening to Yuma before jumping onto Anbuis who growled.

“Now you two are learning how to train properly, but are you ready for the unexpected!” Anubis said as he dug his claws into Yuma causing her to let out a yelp making her let go as she stumbled down flapping her wings as Anbuis squared up with Soul who was now his main target. There were always new dinosaurs every new year due to young dinosaurs growing which always meant there were different tactics to fighting it was never the same and Anubis wanted to train for that and it was always never expect what your opponent would do.

“Be ready, let’s see how you do on your own Soul!” Anubis growled as he lunged forwards with Soul hunkering down to the incoming attack, the two stumbling as growling and the sound of claws scraping against scales as feathers flew up in the air.

The training was going well and the three were honing their skills and training which is what they needed and next to rejoin was Yuma after she shook off the painful claw crunch Anubis did on her earlier. From above Yuma jumped onto the two as they fought in the snow that hadn’t melted yet.

“Enough!! Get off me, you two finally are understanding the training and I think we are ready for next year it was well needed for all of us” Anubis said as Yuma and Soul got off him letting him to his feet before shaking out the painful spots on their body from all the training they had been doing all day. Soul and Yuma nodded as they went to lay down to rest from the fighting.

“I am glad we started earlier in the day. I think I have trained enough. What do you think Yuma?” Soul said, smirking at her as she licked the cuts and scratches that covered her scales. She was glad that Yuma had joined in as the rather passive utahraptor needed to train on her fight style along with Anubis needing a refresh due to his age even though he had been in more fights than the two in their life times.

“I am proud of the training we did today, it should make sure we are ready for next season” Anubis said as he preened his feathers before shaking himself out, the three deserved a good rest as though they spoke about next season coming it was already on its way and it was coming in fast, Anubis stood up and motioned to Yuma and Soul, it was time to head home and prepare more. 

“Your right we do need to train more let’s get going” Soul and Yuma said before joining Anubis.
