Claws clicked against ice that coated the ground making it hard to find your footing with even one small step, it was the cold season still and next season was on its way making many dinosaurs prepare as some traveled and others honed in on their skills.

Pale eyes watched from a distance as he honed in on a small herd of parasaur feeling all their vibrations down to the breath of each parasaur.  as he stalked it using the tall snow banks for cover due to having not contrasting scales. Not far from him was a large carnivore who moved silently through the trees not  making a sound as he waited on a signal.

Seek and Judge had been tracking the small herd for miles through the snow and had finally caught up to them, they were preparing to stockpile food for the next season and hunting was a lot harsher due to the cold weather but they had finally found the herd.

Not far up ahead a third figure peered out of the trees his red face and dark scales watching as the herd moved foraging in areas they could, it was G.R.I.M a large male cryo who had joined in with Judge and Seek In the gathering of food for next season that was to come and he was leading the hunt waiting for the right moment to strike.

Whispering softly G.R.I.M motioned them to move forwards as the herd had wandered into a clearing and were unaware of the presence of danger that was lurking all around them. 

Seek nodded as he followed G.R.I.M’s movement and they would use Judge to cause panic as most herds could scare off one utahraptor as one wasn’t as much of a threat as a pack. 

“ go ahead Judge , it’s go time” G.R.I.M growled lowly as he looked back to see Seek at the ready the young acro still learning the ways of the hunt but was catching on quick, they needed to secure the food to stock up for themselves and finding another one wasn’t going to be easy if they failed this hunt.

With quick motions as Judge rushed out into the open hissing and barking at the styraco herd making the herbivores nervous as the herd started to move, some running and others standing their ground, it was just one Utah.

“Perfect they are staying, Seek at the ready!” G.R.I.M hissed as he moved forwards behind the herd who was focused on Judge stomping and shaking their frills to try and scare him off. Seek nodded as the young acro moved through the trees getting into position as G.R.I.M now revealed himself letting out a hiss as he moved forwards with Judge. The herd was now faced with two predators and one was now much bigger which started to break the ranks as the large herbivores moved those who could make it out now rushed past the two dinosaurs.

Circling Judge and G.R.I.M had a small portion for the herd locked in a kill zone backing the remaining stys into Seek who stood quiet waiting for the right moment to strike as if he messed this up all their preparation and training on other hunts would be for nothing and they needed it for next season if they were to bulk up.

“Now Seek! And Judge keep on that big one” G.R.I.M hissed as he lunged forwards watching Seek crash through the trees aiming right for the large styracosaurs Bull who wasn’t paying attention , and Judge lifted off the ground attacking the side of it as he dug his claws deep into its hide as G.R.I.M chased off the others so they could isolate the bull from the herd.

Seek came fast and hard as he slammed into the side of the bull knocking it sideways with its feet slipping on the snow as he tried to counter attack but was met with the jaws of G.R.I.M snapping, the bull let out roars as he tried to call back to his herd but they had run off in a panic leaving the old bull to fight for himself.

Dodging many of the bulls attacks Seek sunk his teeth into the flank of the bull as he held him down with the weight so G.R.I.M could deal the killing blow with a bite around the neck, as Judge  used his weight and claws to dig deep into it’s side with blood loss. 

“Hold it still, it’s about almost down” G.R.I.M said as he stepped forwards pushing the Bull down as he delivered the final blow and with the struggle coming to a stop he backed off with bloodied jaws Nodding to Seek and Judge who let go once the Bull stopped moving, the hunt was successful and now they had a large stockpile of food and got some more hunting training in for all three of them.

“Well done you two, that was perfect and just in time before we lost the herd, glad we all got some hunting training in for next season as well” G.R.I.M said as he looked at Judge and Seek who nodded with toothy grins, as the two also wanted to share some say on the hunt.

“This will last us for a while , glad we got a big one instead of the small ones” Judge said as he sat on top of the dead bull styracosaurus before looking at Seek who was studying the unmoving body. 

“Plus Seek did a great job with the ambush” Judge added, before shaking himself out.

“Thanks guys , I am glad I could be of help but I think we should start moving this, we have a long journey back to the territory” the young acro said as he got up and started to drag the dead bull, and along with him Judge and G.R.I.M joined in helping out, a nice stockpile for next season and some hunting training what a day's work.
