“Khepri make sure you look for more foliage for the cave while you're ahead, we must get it prepared for next season, we should have our eyes peeled for anything of use to store away”  the pale brown female utah barked out to the two others who went by Khepri and Horus, it was Yuma who was leading the party and they were on a look out to stockpile up on supplies for the upcoming season for their main territory cave.

Horus a grey feathered utah and Khepri nodded as they stuck ahead of Yuma looking for things they could take back to the cave and stockpile up on, next season was coming and fast they would need to be prepared to the best of their abilities and Yuma led the charge. As they looked around Khepri called Horus over the two finding some old foliage that was hidden under the snow as Horus followed Khepri and gave a toothy grin “You found some Khepri good eyes, we should try and gather as much as we can up”. Horus said as he leaned down sniffing the snow and using his claws to unbury the old foliage with the help of Khepri.

Yuma watched the two as she shook her head of course they would find the easy things she asked, but the female utah had something else on her mind for the stockpile and that was to hunt small game animals to be able to store so they had lots of food for the season and so Yuma crouched sniffing the air as she scanned the snow for any movement hearing Horus and Khepri working on getting the fluffy foliage.

“You think this is enough Khepri?” Horus said with a mouth full and his claws full of it, barely being able to see Khepri who nodded and chuckled at the sight “ I think that is more than enough Horus don’t choke on it” the dark brown utah said as he leaned down picking up some foliage in his claws before spotting Yuma stalking small rabbits that were digging in the snow out in the open prime for catching.

“Look Horus , Yuma is stalking the rabbits how smart to stockpile the food up” Khepri said as he watched from the distance wanting to go put the foliage in a pile so they could join in on helping Yuma catch rabbits as well which Horus agreed too as he followed Khepri placing down the foliage he collected.

Horus and Khepri soon joining in on the stalk as Yuma looked back to see them at the ready, they got the idea of stockpiling food for the next season and she could use the help

“We need to catch as many as we can got it? And they are fast so don’t let up” Yuma whispered as she honed in on a rabbit who was busy grooming itself, and some more not too far off from the rest. The three were ready as Horus and Khepri took their positions and waited for Yuma’s command of attack, and with silence Yuma dashed forwards as she set her sights on the rabbit.

Khepri and Horus joined in on the dash as they both picked out a rabbit to chase just like Yuma had and kicked up snow as they did, each raptor caught their rabbit as they dropped them and continued killing as many as they could with Yuma stopping to catch her breath as she carried a rabbit to the pile that Horus and Khepri had started and after awhile the three had accumulated just over fifteen rabbits who lay in the snow, the blood from the small puncture wounds painting the snow red.

“Good job boys, those little buggers are fast aren’t they but now we have a decent stock to take back to the cave for the start of next season” Yuma said as she trotted over to the pile and picked up as many as she could in her jaws waiting for Horus and Khepri to join her, it was time to head back to the cave and prepare it, Horus and Khepri picked up the remaining rabbits as well as the foliage they had gathered.

“Wow what a great catch these will be awesome to stockpile and I want to get back so we can fill the cave with foliage” Khepri said as he leaned down grabbing the foliage in his claws and following Horus and Yuma who were chatting about the rabbits, the three coming to their cave after a bit of travel.

Horus entered the cave first as Yuma followed behind placing the rabbits in a stash they had, but it was time to place the foliage and fluff but the area inside for next season as Khepri started on that task, Yuma taking a rest as she watched Horus come to help Khepri after unloading the rabbits he had been carrying for stockpile.

Taking the foliage Khepri and Horus started at each end of the cave as they threw it on the ground covering the hard rocky surface, as Yuma watched in amusement there was always fun in getting ready for next season and the three were no strangers to it.

“How does it look, is your side covered over their Horus?” Khepri barked in his direction watching Horus place the last of his foliage he was carrying? Horus stepped back as he nodded before sitting down in the soft area, it was all set the cave was looking prepared already for next season that was just around the corner.

“ what do you think Yuma, good looking or what” Horus said chuckling as he watched Khepri sit next to him both waiting on a answer from Yuma who was inspecting the placement, and with a final nod of approval the two sighed with relief, it wasn’t a easy task but the small pack was now a bit ready for the future to come as they felt it was time for some well needed rest. Each raptor picked a spot and settled down for the day, a successful stockpiled cave and just in time.
