The sound of thundering footprints echoed in the valley deep in the bare forest and the bellowing of panic from a large parasaur herd and the sound of a party chasing behind them as a flash of red and black scales rushed behind them shaking his head to keep the herd running from him, it was Ares a large bulky carnotaurus and he was on the hunt to stockpile for next season having not eaten recently the large carnivore wanted to take down a parasaur to stash away for the next season, and he wasn’t alone as sounds of other carnivores up ahead were joining in on the idea just like Ares. As a feathered cryo caught up to the large carno and called over to him it was Fenrir and the two had been chasing the herd for awhile tiring them out due to the deep snow until they could get close enough.

“We are getting closer to where Nasaku is waiting Ares, the deep snow is working they are slowing down” Fenrir said as he caught up with Ares the two moving through the deep snow as they stuck behind the parasaur herd, as Ares nodded with a grin across his jaws.

They did this every year before each season so they could stockpile the parasaurs they could kill so they could be bulky and well fed for next season and it was just right around the corner and with many other carnivores doing the same, and a little ways up ahead movement could be heard and a large figure stalked from the barren woods. Red eyes scanned the clearing as Nasaku awaited for the herd to make their way into deeper snow along with until he could see Ares and Fenrir as they needed to signal him to attack, it was just a waiting game now.

The sound of thundering footsteps echoed into the open clearing as Ares let out a massive roar giving the signal to Nasaku to get ready as the sound of parasaurs bellowing as a small group split from the main herd due to Ares and Fenrir panicking them to the area.

Shaking his head Nasaku came out into the open approaching the parasaurs who created a circle more focused on Fenrir and Ares who took the frontal approach as the large albertosaurus took the back.

“Guess it’s show time, the stockpile is needed for us for next season can't let this opportunity slip” He growled under his breath as he let out a roar making the herd now surrounded, now tired and panicked it was only a matter of time that Ares, Fenrir and Nasaku would pick one individual out to attack as the rest of the small parasaur herd would split due to the stress of predators.

Stockpiling was common amongst the carnivores of the island in preparation for the next season and this was the hardest part catching them but they had the first step down. Ares moved forward as he shoved against a larger parasaur who moved backwards dodging him but then met with Fenrir who flashed his feathers letting out a hiss, with that the parasaur rushed off breaking the herds ranks leaving only two now.

“Good job you two, we just need to split the last one and then we will have one to ourselves”  Fenrir said as he waited for Nasaku to push the much bigger parasaur from the smaller one as the two pushed against one another trying to defend from the carnivores but it wasn’t looking good.

A loud rumble came from Nasaku’s throat as he lunged forwards nipping at the back end of the parasaur which he was met with a flurry of kicks and stomps which was allowing Ares to use his bulkiness and size to match the strength of the herbivore who was putting up a fight, all they had to do was scare it off which they were getting closer and closer as the once stoic parasaur now backed up pushing into the much smaller one who was exhausted from the running and heavy snow they had to run through during the chase.

After a few moments and struggle the parasaur charged forwards leaving behind the smaller one, which now their plan was finally in play, Nasaku, Fenrir and Ares turned their attention to their prey. Attack after attack the three took turns attacking the parasaur who did its best to fight back but was eventually overcome by the three carnivores who never let up once, what felt like hours now came to a end as the herbivore eventually dropped in the snow with the white powered snow that was once smooth was now littered with footprints and dried blood.

“Finally man do those things put up a fight, glad we had Nasaku this time, and Fenrir you did great as well” Ares said as he sat down in the snow sniffing the limp body of their kill and shaking off the snow that clung to his scales, it was about time they finally found a good meal to stockpile and bulk up on for next season, sometimes it didn’t always go well but this time it did for the three.

The large albertosaurus shook his head before shoving Fenrir playfully out of the way as the two chuckled “ Come on old bones we need to get this dragged to the cave , don’t want others stealing it for their stockpile I will not be going hungary at the start of next season” He said before leaning down and picking up a leg as he began to drag it, Fenrir the cyro joining in and nodding before looking up in the sky, it was getting dark the three had to get moving.

“Come on Ares we need your help, besides if you want any of this you better” Fenrir said as he watched Ares sigh and join the other two, it was off to the cave so they could stockpile their fresh kill and prepare with some more rest before the season started which was upcoming fast.
