It had been a cold winter on the island and with winter came the hatching for many late eggs who were laid at this time struggled and often were left behind with three misfit hatchlings that had hatched during this period. Seek, Jigsaw and Daisy had the same upbringing with being abandoned and left alone as a eggs and had the fortunate timing on finding each other with Seek a larger acro hatchling being added to their little carnivore crew who was lead by Daisy a feathered carno who was a bit to friendly that often got her in trouble most of the time. Today they were out trying to find food in the large world they called home but it wasn’t going as well as they hoped due them being so young but that didn’t stop the trio from trying at least. 

“Come on Daisy are you sure you know where we can find food I feel like we have been walking forever, are you sure us three can catch anything”  Seek said growling as he followed behind Daisy and Jigsaw who shrugged off the much larger hatchlings cries and pleads to find something to eat or hunt. The small group coming to a stop as Daisy sniffed the air before looking back at Seek and letting out a giggle and shaking her head before seeing Jigsaw join her.

“Well if you keep being that loud you will scare everything I am sure we can find something, or something small enough” Daisy said shaking out her feathers before watching Jigsaw sniff the air which was good since the small cryo was often good at finding scents of various animals even with the snow that coated the ground but was melted due to the weather.

“I think I found something Daisy and Seek stop bickering and come on” the small cryo said as she rushed off leaving Seek and Daisy to catch up. The two looked at one another before joining Jigsaw who had a scent of the small game that they could handle due to being hatchlings.

Daisy and Seek joined up head seeing Jigsaw who was now crouched close to the ground as she kept still with Seek and Daisy spotting a small open area of snow that had small figures forging which was a small group of rabbits unaware of the three carnivore hatchlings stalking them.

“Look there, they are. good job Jigsaw, would you look at that Seek” the happy go lucky carno said before being shoved down by the much larger acro hatchling and Jigsaw who wanted it quiet not to scare away the group of rabbits. The three were quiet as they watched wondering what to do next due to being so young and never had hunted something alive before this was going to be a challenge for the three but they were eager to learn and eat something more than scraps.

The rabbits moved around foraging in the snow and were getting closer to the three hatchlings, everything was quiet with no movement other than from the rabbits. Shifting their weight Seek too the led due to being the biggest and now his stomach growled and they had a plan set in place and it involved setting a ambush to the best they could and that would start with the very loud Daisy as she nodded to Seek who was also getting into position, and the last to get ready was Jigsaw.

“Now Daisy Chase them towards us! And don’t let up even if we mess up” Jigsaw said as her and Seek jumped out and waited for the rabbits to head their way, the ambush was working it was now to catch their meal but it seemed like the rabbits were a lot faster then the three thought as Seek began to lag behind leaving Jigsaw and Daisy to keep chasing.

“I'm too slow to keep at it Jigsaw and Daisy” Seek said as he did his best to catch up but was falling short all his faith was put into Jigsaw and Daisy who weren’t letting their fast dinner get away without pushing themselves to the limit for. Seek stopping as he watched the two push themselves in hopes that they could secure a first time meal for all of them, it was looking close.

“Daisy keep chasing, I'll cut them off quickly, don't give up” Jigsaw said as she cut a corner dashing as Daisy nodded chasing the rabbits even harder than before making the small critters go into a smaller space, the plan was working.

“I almost got one Jigsaw” Daisy said as she rammed using her head to toss one of the rabbits who missed the carno which sent it in the air as Jigsaw leaped up catching it in her jaws, the two had done it.

It only left Seek had finally caught up and noticed a rabbit had run straight to him, he didn’t need to be faster than the small rabbit as it was tired out. With a quick grin Seek moved forwards, chomping his small jaws over it as it limped in his jaws. The trio had done it, securing their first real meal, walking over Seek sat down in the snow seeing Jigsaw and Daisy with their kills as the trio decided to get their energy back and talk about their exciting hunt as it was their first time and it was successful.

“How guys! You all did great, but we do need to work on your stamina Seek” Jigsaw said as she dug into her rabbit eating down the meat quickly.

Seek and Daisy nodded and let out a few laughs as the three continued to talk about the encounter and what they needed to work on and how to better their next hunt, but all that mattered was that they finally had a real meal even if it took a bit of learning.
