It had been a couple of months now and ever since the labs doors had opened and the lab dinosaurs who called it home poured into the surface world on the island, the small misfit group had been learning the harsh ways of the surface world and just because they escaped from the lab it didn’t make life any easier. They had settled in well but there was still some learning that needed to be done as there was much bigger and badder dinosaurs who roamed around and today was going well until it wasn’t.

“ Slad3! Back off it’s to strong we bit off more than we could chew don’t jump back on” Diaval roared as he shook off the harsh hit he had gotten from the large bull styracosaurus who went by the name of Zombie and who had his focus on Atlas who was trying to give Diaval time to breath from the harsh counter attack. The trio had grown and bitten off more than they could chew with attacking a styracosaurs herd who was heavily guarded by the bull named Zombie and the three were now forced to fight for their lives and the old bull was not making it easy for the misfit group.

Slad3 shook off his hit as he growled and hissed at Zombie who stomped and thrashed his head snorting and pawing at the ground, the three surrounded him and awaited his next move as blindly attacking wasn’t working for them and they needed a different plan of attack even if it meant not killing the herbivore but to overpower and chase him off.

“Distract him Atlas , me and Slad3 will counter attack” Diaval roared before nodding towards Atlas who followed his instructions, using his feathers he flashed his bioluminescent markings to get Zombie’s attention which made the large bull turn towards him as he reared and rushed forwards and with that Diaval followed up as he slammed into the side of Zombie using all his might to shove and Slad3 jumped up onto the back of Zombie but couldn’t get past the bulls thick feathers that coated his body.

“I can’t bite through too many feathers and I am losing my grip!” Slad3 said as he held on with his claws seeing Atlas was about to join in the battle flashing Zombie with his glow, it was a hunt anymore it was a fight for survival and they were winning or so they thought. 

“Get off me you lab rats!” Zombie said snorting as he kicked up, throwing Slad3 off his back and slamming into Diaval who did his best to counter as he grabbed onto Zombie’s horns with his jaws and planted his feet mumbling through his clamped jaws.

“We don’t live in the lab anymore! Take that back” he growled as he held on with all his might, the sty bull was giving them a run for their money but something took over the trio as their survival instincts kicked in, they had faced bigger in the labs and that being of Geiger so this bull was no different.

Something had clicked and the trio were now working as a unit in order to turn the fight to their advantage as they communicated via growls and hisses, and Atlas entered close quarters this time with Diaval and Slad3 kept Zombie distracted in the front of the fight as he hissed and slashed at his face causing the herbivore to move his head so his eyes wouldn’t get hit.

“It’s working, guys keep at it, maybe we will be able to chase him off and overcome him!” Diaval said as he sunk his teeth into the back of Zombie's leg and Atlas clawed at his side with feathers flying everywhere, Zombie was on his own as his herd had run off due to the carnivores in the area and he was left to defend himself.

As the fight went on longer each side was tiring out with Atlas, Diaval and Slad3 taking turns to attack Zombie from each side and taking breaks or covering for one another when they needed to dip out of the fight, and Zombie was feeling it too as his movement became slower they were tiring the old bull out and he was thinking it was about time to escape the trio but kept his ground letting out bellows and snorts before kicking up dirt.

“Have you had enough you big lard” Slad3 hissed at Zombie as his claws tapped the dirt and the other two backed him up as they roared and hissed at Zombie who looked around for a out of the area they were in he was being overwhelmed and the trio was beating and winning the scuffle each side battered and bruised but nothing that wouldn’t heal with rest.

“Alright enough, Don’t ever come near my herd again you hear me!” Zombie said as he snorted and dashed past Diaval and Atlas who let growls and chased behind him and of course Slad3 who followed insulting the sty who attacked them first but the trio had won their first fight on surface against another dinosaur and it was a herbivore.

After watching Zombie take the way out the trio said their last words before coming together and celebrating their victory and how well they did to overcome the fight they had just been in and working as  team was even better for them, Atlas took a seat down in the grassy area and shook out his feathers before being joined by Diaval who sprawled out to stretch as he was sore. Slad3 sat on top of Diaval and licked his bruises and cuts.

“Well done you two I knew you would have my back” Diaval said which Atlas gave a smile and Slad3 gave a chirp of agreement, the group now wanting to rest to gain their strength back for the many more battles to come now that they lived on the surface world.
