It had been a cold winter on the island as snow coated every inch of the ground making traveling much harsher with most dinosaurs sticking close to home but others enjoyed the chilly weather and something that was popular during the cold was the hot springs that bubbled off on the steaming hill that was surrounded by volcanic masses that froze over on the surface but heated the water pools to hot temperatures allowing the warm water to be enjoyed by many of the dinosaurs who had figured out the spa like area. 

“Come on Artifact we are almost to the hot springs I cannot wait to warm up the cold winter had been harsh” said a much smaller carno who went by name of Rune who spotted white feathers that blended into the snow around her and a much larger carno followed behind her and went by the name of Artifact, he also had thick feathers to deal with the cold weather and they were almost to the hotsprings to enjoy themselves in the warm water they had to offer.

“Don’t go too far, I know you're excited I am too!” He called out to Rune as he worked to catch up to her, heading up a hill that was once red and orange with lava was now a snow covered wasteland and the steam from the hot springs giving them an idea on how close they were and the duo kept moving. Artifact took the lead as Rune followed him making sure they were going the safe way as the ground underneath wasn’t very safe due to the frozen over fissures from the volcano.

Coming over the hill Rune and Artifact stopped as they took in the beautiful view with the fissure hot spring pools steaming up into the air and many dinosaur footprints imprinted into the ground around them as the hot springs were a popular spot for all, but it was just them there today which was a good thing as they wanted to relax and boy where the two ready to do so.

Quickly dashing ahead Rune skidded down a hill as snow piled up at the base where she had stopped and Artifact chuckled watching the young carno before following her and mumbling to himself.

“We made it, time for some relaxation” he said before watching Rune as he headed to the first fissure pool that glistened with clear blue water as it let off heat.

“ Artifact, it's so warm I could stay here forever, let's get in!” Rune said as she jumped into one of the pools and sat down the warm water soaking her white feathers as she let out a relaxed sigh watching Artifact follow her lead as he also joined in and sat down rolling so the water would get him everywhere.

Splashing around the two playfully moved water with their smaller digits and enjoyed the warmth it provided to them, spending the time at the hot springs during the cold season was all about relaxation for these two as they laid down for a bit.

Rune afterwhile stood as she shook the water from her feathers and leaned down before splashing water at Artifact who was half asleep due to the heat he was enjoying as he jolted awake and let out a laugh before standing up himself.

“Hey that wasn’t fair i was enjoying myself, warm water warfare it is then Rune!” Artifact said as he splashed her back the two going back and forth as they chased each other moving to different pools, letting out laughs and playful growls before the two came to a stop and took in the beauty of the area before wanting to head back into a much bigger pool as the steam was heavy in it and would warm them up some more from all the running around and splashing of water they had done.

“We should come here every snowfall Rune, I could use this relaxation like this all the time couldn’t you?” Artifact said as he laid down in the pool feeling the warmness come back to his body as Rune rejoined him as she sat on the outside of the pool wanting to dry off a bit as she nodded in agreement.

‘Well let’s make it official , we come here every Snowfall to enjoy the hot springs when we travel up this way. I think it’s a great idea Artifact!” she said before laying down on some steam that escaped through the cracks in the ground giving her a nice area to rest on.

“Sounds like a good idea to me Rune, now Let's get back to relaxing!” he said before letting out a sigh the two decided to stay there for a bit longer. Besides who didn’t love the hot spring spa’s I think most dinosaurs did.
