[Trade] Dam It (Spring 2025)

Loud footsteps crushed against the rocks that lined the river beds on the island as two large figures pushed their way through foliage and other plant life that was in the way of them, and not far behind them was a small figure.

“Where are we going you two, You never tell me anything until it's too late or until we get there” Giovanna growled as she jumped around behind Geiger and Zonnan who tolerated the small cryo who happened to follow them on their outings but Zonnan and Geiger were out for a specific reason and wanted to show Giovanna so Zonnan just let out a soft laugh while Geiger shook herself out before growling some words out.

“Keep up we are almost there” Geiger said as she walked ahead spotting a large lake that spanned across the island with the water now crystal clear and rushing due to the warm weather and snow that had melted. Zonnan wasn’t far behind as he nudged Giovanna playfully before she joined behind them quickly. As the three approached the river Giovanna spotted a large dam that blocked an area of the river and she was curious as she leaned down watching before feeling the presence of Geiger and Zonnan coming to stand by her. 

“Do you see it Giovanna, it’s a damn come lets get a closer look” Zonnan said before stepping forwards as Geiger nodded to the small cryo to follow Zonnan who was excited to finally enjoy the spring season that was rolling in and that meant some animals that didn’t come out during the winter months. The three finally got to the large dam that towered, blocking some of the river water.

“Wow look at all these sticks Zonnan and Geiger” Giovanna said as she ducked under larger branches that stuck out along with smaller ones, Geiger kept her distance as she watched Zonnan and Giovanna beam with excitement at what they had found which she growled before shaking it off before spotting movement coming up to her and it was a small figure that was covered in fur and was wet.

“There you are you little river rat, and look at the big stick you have but always oblivious to the dangers and to focused on spring” Geiger said as she watched the small beaver make its way across the river rocks as it carried a stick not paying attention to Geiger and was focused on making its way to the dam.

As Geiger watched the new creature, Giovanna and Zonnans eyes widened as they spotted it as well

“Quick come look Giovanna, Geiger found one!, its  beaver I remember these little guys and they are the culprits to your question in who made the dams” Zonnan said as he watched the small animal make its way around the dam as it placed a stick before waddling off again.

Giovanna smiled as she watched the beaver move stick after stick to the dam before disappearing into the river water just before her eyes, the three watching as another beaver joined the other original one.

“You know I never understood why they blocked the river and still don’t” Geiger grumbled under her breath as she moved her head with the beaver who walked around her to get past with a stick in its mouth as it finally got to the dam and placed it before waddling off again to find another stick.

Gioavanna and Zonnan watched intently while Geiger spoke about the beavers, with Gioavanna getting an idea as she sprung up wandering off as Zonnan watched her wondering what the small cryo was up to now. As Gioavanna walked past Zonnan and Geiger she found a small stick and rushed back towards the dam.

“Oh good idea Gioavanna guess you really want to help them” Zonnan said chuckling to himself as he stood up and followed Giovanna before finding a large log himself and picked it up in his large jaws before dragging it back to the dam with Giovanna following behind with her own stick.

“I wanted to help them! It seems like hard work” She said, placing the stick down as she watched the beavers return, after putting some more sticks and Zonnan placing his large log. They joined back with Geiger as she just shook her head at their tag along with the beavers, but I guess she did find it funny a bit.

“Well maybe you lightened their load for the day” Geiger said as she watched with the beavers returning a bit less now, it was a nice day out and traveling for the day for the three it was about time for some rest. Giovanna and Zonnan kept talking about the beavers as Geiger just sighed before laying her head down to take a nap, I guess the beavers weren’t so bad to watch.
