The dark damp bellows of the alpha labs rotted with the stench of death and despair as most surface dinosaurs now explored what the old facility had hidden away, and was very different to the lush and natural surface world above it.

Life was different down in the labs and hunting was common but what was even more common was the art of scavenging off others which was a good skill to have and put to good use. It had been a few days since a small cryo pack had eaten and they had been exploring the lower levels of the labs and it was time for a good meal but finding one wasn’t going as planned.

“Hunting down here is tough, I didn’t think it was going to be that hard but Edge is right we should see if we can scout out a meal from some other dinosaurs” a medium sized feathered cryo growled as she fluffed out her dark and vibrant feathers feeling the chill of the labs that wafted through the air as they walked.

Ahead of them was a large cryo who went by the name of Edge, she led the pack and kept her senses high as she listened to Blizzard and Vaar bicker about the plan of attack on how to score a meal, flicking her tail as she walked with purpose. 

“You want us to scavenge, we can hunt perfectly fine. I didn’t think that would come out of your jaws” Blizzard hissed towards Vaar who brushed off his words. They had been exploring for a few days and all they had come across was rotting bodies and bones which wasn’t too appetizing to consider eating.

“Enough you two, if you would sniff and pay attention our food is already here smell the air” Edge hissed as she looked back at the two who stopped and followed her orders but they smelt the scent of a fresh kill but another unfamiliar scent wafted with it.

Ahead of the small pack was a large dead herbivore dinosaur who had been ripped to shreds and standing over it was a large acro who spotted dark green scales that were covered in scars. Geiger was the horror of the alpha labs and she was always known to make a kill whenever she hunted but she was not keen on sharing her well earned kill, but for now she was distracted as she ate her snout covered in blood.

Blizzard , Vaar and Edge ducked into cover as they watched Geiger eat the fresh kill but Edge was making a plan in her head, why do all the work when someone else already has as a grin came across her jaws.

“We can’t take from that your crazy, it will kill us” Blizzard said as he watched hearing the crunching of bones and flesh, along with Vaar also feeling a bit intimated “you want us to fight that thing?” She added looking at Edge who was Silent.

“ we don’t fight, that’s where you two nimrods don’t think, the work is already done for us” Edge hissed shaking her head at Vaar and Blizzard “ we just have to simply steal” she added before stepping ahead using the shadows to stay undetected as Vaar and Blizzard followed.

Geiger didn’t notice them as she continued to eat her movement shaking the room they were in, she was too busy and soon enough she would be done with her meal or what was left of it and that’s when the pack would work their magic.

The waiting game was a long and harsh one but that’s what came with scavenging you got a reward with zero risk, but they would have to be careful incase Geiger came back once she had wandered off which the large brute of a acro did her tail dragging behind her as her tracked collar beeped.

“Let's go Blizzard , you keep watch. Edge and I will grab what we can first” Vaar said as she scanned the area before dashing out towards the corpse followed by Edge and Blizzard who nodded when the two began to tear into the fresh kill gulping down what they could.

Blizzard kept a keen eye for Geiger’s return as the dark hallway peered back at him “ when you guys are done let me eat” he hissed under his breath making sure to stay quiet.

Edge and Vaar had gotten their fill as they swapped spots with Blizzard which he took no time eating as fast as he could, but footsteps were shaking the floor and Geiger had picked up on their scents as a loud roar came from the hallway shaking the world around them, she was back and she wasn’t gonna tolerate scavengers.

“I think it’s time to wrap up” Edge growled as she watched the hallway seeing one red eye glow along with the beeping from

Geiger’s tracker collar, coming from the darkness and with a few moments of silence out of the blackness came jaws at the ready as she rushed towards the three which sent them scrambling to grab what they could from the kill.

“It’s time to go” Vaar hissed as dodged a snapping bite from Geiger who stepped over the dead

Blizzard and Edge make a quick exit as they ducked into a smaller

Hallway that Geiger couldn’t get into and was left with loud roars from the beast before she stopped and slugged back towards her kill.

“Well that was a rush” Blizzard said as he talked through his teeth while holding a piece of meat he managed to grab, as Edge and Vaar let out hissy chuckles.

“I told you , the job was already done. We just had to scavenge” Edge said looking at the two who were still catching their breath from the encounter.

Once the pack got their bearings. It was time to go off and explore more of the alpha labs and besides scavenging was easier than hunting.
