The calming wind of the islands swept through as many of the dinosaurs were relaxing and enjoying the weather and amongst them was a large Shuno but he was preparing for something as many others were and that was the upcoming eclipse , he had learned about it growing up and was aware about the talk going around of its coming. The brown shuno was walking near the shore of the beaches enjoying the ocean waves as it would be a prime spot to catch it in all its glory but he wasn’t sure when it was coming and if it was even real but he could hope.

Kicking at the sand around his feet he kept walking watching the water come into shore and go back out, the talk about the coming Darkest day was all that Ouranos had heard over the past few days . he had never seen it throughout his entire life and he didn’t really believe in it to much. His brown feathers soaked in the sunrays as he stepped into the water just off shore, when all a sudden it started to seem darker as he stared at the sand under the low water “ why does it seem darker, are my eyes not working” he mumbled to himself as it was just a cloud that had passed in front of the sun as it brightened back up with Ouranos letting out a deep sigh.

“I thought I was seeing things” he mumbled again to himself as the sound of his stomach grumbling bugged him, he had come down to the beach to get the juicy fruit that grew off the plant life.

“Well I guess it's time to eat I don’t think anything is going to happen” shaking out his feathers as he made his way to a large tree that had sprouted, Ouranos let of a smile as he walked up to the tree and lifted up onto his back legs reaching up taking some fruit into his mouth. The crunching of mulching of the fruit in his mouth as he let out a small noise of happiness , as he went to reach up for more the once bright world around him started to darken as he landed back down in the sand. Turning around he swung his head back and forth trying to see if his eyes were bugging him again but this time it kept getting dark, was this it? The darkest day was happening right in front of Ouranos’s eyes was all the stories real that he was being told and heard about around the island these past weeks.

The once bright sky was now turning a dark color and quickly it was something odd to the shuno who never seen a daylight leave so quick he couldn’t understand what was going on, stepping back as the sky got dark and the sun now covered by a dark circle caught the eye of the shuno was he closed them harshly. He couldn’t look at it directly as he walked towards the tree line, shaking the pain from looking at it before turning around as the shade provided enough coverage for him to take a look, his mouth opened wide as the darkest day had happened. The world once bright and now dark had Ouranos in shock, sticking close to the shade of the trees as he laid down to enjoy the view as it played out.

“Wow the Darkest day stories were true!It looks so beautiful. How can it be bright and now dark all of  a sudden?” He said to himself , he was told when he was a young calf the day would come but he never believed it and always questioned the event but was he wrong. The large herbivore sat and enjoyed the view as he looked all around hearing the water still splash against the sandy shore. He wasn’t sure how long it was going to go on but he was definitely enjoying the view.

As he continued to watch he could see many other herbivores who had come to the beach also enjoying the eclipse, it seemed everyone was waiting to see it. The skies kept dark as eventually the world began to brighten again , and just like that it was over. Which made Ouranos stand up quickly looking around as it was bright like it was just a few minutes ago. Just like that the darkest day was over? He couldn’t believe it, it happened so fast.

“ Well that was a view, too bad it's over now. I didn't think it was going to happen,  I wonder how it works and how often” he said to himself as he stepped out back onto the sand. Turning around to the tree that had the fruit giving off a smile. A snack and a natural show life couldn’t get better than this, taking fruit off the ground into his mouth as he gave the sun one last look as it was now back to the natural brightness of the day. As he shook out his feathers once more and gulped down the fruit, “Well I should look forwards to this again, would hate to miss it and who knew it was real I thought others were just making things up I am glad I got to witness it” he mumbled to himself as he walked towards the forest.

Not many dinosaurs got to say they had seen the darkest day in their lifetime, most never seeing it; only very few were lucky to witness it as the rest of the event was told about in stories. But Ouranos was lucky and would carry the event with him from now on and maybe become one of those who would tell the story about being a lucky one to witness the darkest day, when a normal day went dark. With that Ouranos went on with his day as he headed back to the forest and back to his home off the beach.
