The sound of many calls across the island could be heard as it was becoming the time of courtship and many of the islands dinosaurs were on the lookout for potential partners many gifting or doing rituals that had been passed on from generation to generation, and with that meant carnivores as well were on the hunt for worthy mates and that included the large male cryo known as Reaper. He was on the sent of a large female cryo by the name of Xenomorph and he could tell she was nearby and following her scent was all he had but he was getting closer with each step. He had been tracking her for days but also had many other suitors that he turned away or ended in a fight, so Reaper really needed to be careful in winning her over. As the large male made his way, black scales flashed along with vibrant green as Xenomorph was at the river getting a drink as she was also looking for a male who could prove himself to her but she had no luck so far with many suitors letting her down and her chasing them off.

“Ugh all these males are boring” she mumbled under her breath as she leaned down to take a cooling drink keeping her surroundings on high alert, smelling the presence of another male making her lift her head up. Her eyes scanning the area around her as she continued to drink hearing the snapping of twigs getting closer, it was Reaper and his red eyes were locked onto Xenomorph which caught her interest as she lifted her head from the water taking a wide stance towards him with a curious look. Reaper walked forwards as he let out low rumbles before lifting his head and flashing his white and black crest moving in a dance like pattern to keep Xeno’s attention as he moved forwards and towards her making sure to move slow as he shook his head letting out one more grumble as he awaited a response from the female who was also large and her vibrant scales caught his attention.

“This one looks interesting, lets see what you got big guy” Xenomorph mumbled to herself as she stepped forwards letting out rumbles back to him as they locked eyes circling each other , with Reaper flashing his crest at her it was now the two to test each other's strength as Reaper let out deeper growls and rumbles continuing to get closer as they circled before stopping and sizing each other up. The two carnivores met in the middle as they let out growls and hisses at one another , not backing down from another, both exchanging rumbles and cooing. Xenomorph was now interested in the male as showing size and strength is what she looked for in a partner and Reaper was proving himself well and the aggressive dance continued as he continued to flash his crest at Xeno keeping her attention. The pair was off to a good start as Xenomorph kept her eyes on Reaper not moving them as he moved around showing himself off letting out a roar towards her as he bobbed his head up and down at her.

Reaper felt he was doing a good courtship show off as he kept his moves slow and swapped them  fast as he flashed his crest at her, keeping her attention on him. This was a delicate dance for the large carnivores as most cryo’s courtship ended in fights if they didn’t go correctly, but the two were proving well with one another as they came together once more sizing each other up before Xenomorph licked Reaper playfully and ran off but looked back awaiting his chase. It seemed like she was interested and making him chase her seemed to be a fun thing for the two to finalize the bond if he could keep up that is with a grin coming across her face as she watched him follow as he let out rumbles to her with her returning them back.

“A chase i see, well lets see how fast you can run” he mumbled to himself with a grin as he was quick to follow behind the large female. The two darted through the forest as Xenomorph jumped over logs and called out to Reaper who returned her calls with his as he followed behind playfully chasing her. The pair seemed to be getting along and the hard part was done now it was just to keep up with her and they would accept each other but she was indeed fast. The two soon came to a pond surrounded by large trees as Xenomorph let out a laugh from her jaws, stopping as she looked at Reaper who managed to keep up with the female with the two coming together once more nuzzling their heads to one another.

“You are a fast one big guy, what’s your name?” she said playfully rubbing against him , her purple eyes filled with interest in the male. 

“Reaper and you are?” he responded as he followed her gaze letting out calming rumbles to her, introducing one another was a great way to make the bond firm as she let off a smile “I am Xenomorph nice to meet you Reaper, I am glad you could keep up with me” she added. The two had finalized their courtship as they cooed and nudged one another walking side by side as the look out for a good nesting spot was the next thing in line for the new pair. Over the next few days they would work together to build a nest and hunt with one another further proving their bond to each other, courtship was important and the partner you picked mattered in the success of the offspring that was to come in the next few weeks for the two. Xenomorph and Reaper came to a stop as they had spotted a fallen tree that had a wide hollow hole at the end filled with leaf litter from previous dinosaurs who called it home once, the large female leaned down looking inside as she sniffed around… it was perfect this is where they would build their nest and raise their young.

With that the two agreed as Xenomorph worked on  fixing the inside and Reaper went off to make a kill for his new mate, Xenomorph crawled inside the large fallen tree as she moved the leaf litter around making it cozy for herself. She would rely on Reaper to feed her in the next weeks as they would tend to the eggs together, soon laying down she closed her eyes.

“I brought food” a familiar voice woke her up as she crawled out of the new den seeing Reaper as he trotted forwards dropping a young parasaur on the ground before snuggling Xenomorph letting out coo’s and rumbles to her before walking to the den area and inspecting it. The pair’s courtship was sealed as Xenomorph downed her new meal and joined Reaper “ Do you like it?” she asked before nudging against him, it was her first time but she felt she did a good job when he was gone.

“I think it looks great, I hope you enjoyed your meal” he said before crawling into the den followed by Xenomorph who cozied right next to her new mate as the two exchanged loving licks to one another. The two new parents would have to rely on one another  for the next weeks testing their bond as they hunted together and managed the den. Having a strong bond with your mate was needed to survive on this island. With Reaper had fathered other clutches he had the experience to make sure they did everything right so that their bond was as strong as it could be before the hatchings would arrive soon and it would strengthen the survival rate of them but for now the pair continued to snuggle as it began to get dark exchanging clicks and coo’s to one another as they both laid their head down to get some rest. Courtship was a harsh activity as it needed to go right and many failed or lost to others but not this time Reaper had done all the right things and would now father another clutch.

The night soon fell on the island as Reaper and Xenomorph cuddled together as they slept the night away, Reaper and Xenomorph were excited for their upcoming hatchlings, the courtship across the island was done for now as other pairs prepped for the same thing as these two, but the next weeks to come would test the new found bond of the two cryo’s and really show if their courtship would blossom into a good pairing but only time would tell for the two carnivores as they slept the night away, waking up to continue preparing and giving their bond the strength it needed and who knows what would come for the two.
