Not a Drill- (Summer 2024)- Magenta

The heat of the day beat down on every dinosaur on the island as most tried to hide away from it as the need for water would become too much to bear, the nicer weather causing others to stay out and enjoy it the best they could. With nicer weather coming around always brought new faces out, some that often hid away when the island wasn’t in its nice primed season.

“ We are super close to the Beach, I can almost taste the water” yelled a black and white cryo who was waiting for her other siblings to catch up who weren’t as happy about the hot weather. 

“ We have been to the beach so many times Magenta, it’s not going anywhere or gonna change wait up” Cyan yelled as she let out a growl of annoyance, the three had been to the beach many times and never got my Magenta was so excited every time especially in the heat that clung to their black scales making it much hotter.

Magenta ran ahead as she huffed leaving her siblings in the dust, the sand between her toes she could feel something was different this time but she wasn’t sure what. After a little while she finally had felt the warm sand between her claws as her two siblings had caught up to her catching their breath.

Magenta making a chuckle as she looked back at the two slow pokes “look you finally caught up, let's get into the water already and cool down this is what we came here for” She said calling to them before trotting to the water which was a small reef filled with rocks and corals. As Magenta was joined by her siblings they splashed around and chased each other making ripples in the water, many dinosaurs coming down to the beach to cool off but today was quiet but the three didn’t seem to mind as they laughed and snapped at each other playfully. 

The movement of something under the water was approaching quickly with the young cryo’s unsure of the dangers that were approaching to them and it would be something they had never seen in their lifetime so far. Magenta watched her siblings fight in the water as she laughed enjoying the water as the waves were calm, as she watched the reef floor spotting various shells and small fish swimming but something felt different but she couldn’t ping point it.

The figure of a dark shadow costing the reef’s made its way over to the cryo’s as it moved slowly but with purpose , it was a new life form that had moved to the reefs due to the up in temperature and hunting was a lot better for them here at this time of year. The dark shadow soon disappeared as it swam approaching Magenta who was unaware of the dangers below the water, it was now moving in fast.

“ Okay okay Cyan and Yellow stop messing around you're going to drown each other!” Magenta called out as pain surged through her tail at lighting speed making her lift it out of the water with a medium sized hammerhead shark hanging with a death grip on her tail tip. 

“OUCH GET IT OFF ME! GET IT OFF ME, ITS BITING ME” She called out trying to shake it off her tail which caused her siblings to stop in a panic as they saw the large shark hanging from her tail. They had never seen this type of shark so this was a first impression for them which wasn’t going well, Magenta slammed her tail in the water as she began to run in a panic with her siblings Yellow and Cyan ran over to help her remove the hammerhead.

Yellow and Cyan had finally got to Magenta as one grabbed the shark by its tail.
“Magenta stop moving! You're going to make it worse!” Yellow said through her teeth as Cyan was trying to get Magenta to stop moving around too much. With one big pull and yell of pain from Magenta the two girls got the hammerhead off her tail as it plunged back into the water swimming off in a flash. Magenta looked at her tail with teeth marks in it as she huffed.

“I think its time to leave the beach, because that was a much bigger shark than the ones we are used to and I am not getting bit” Cyan said with Yellow agreeing with her as they exited the water with Magenta catching up as she held her tail out of the water this time to avoid getting bit again.

That was enough beach time for them today and they would face the heat instead of getting chewed on by the local Hammerhead population and that was good with all three of them.
