Life's a Beach - (Summer Seasonal 2024)- Sekhmet

In the heat of the summer the island had been held tightly by the hot sun with most sticking to the shaded areas to hide from the sun to at least get a break if not wanting to wait till the cooling nights. But some others were enjoying the heat of the summer  and one was Sekhmet , a large male feathered parasaur who was in need of some cooling off due to his black feathers. Letting out some pants of air he was making his way down a pathway that many traveled and used to find their way to the island's beach. The tree’s canopy helped Sekhmet when it was warm but when it was blistering hot days he needed the cooling water from the beach but getting there was a bit of a walk which he didn’t mind.

“Phew, today is a hot day isn’t it?” Sekhmet huffed as he kept making his way down the pathway, his tail swaying behind him as he trotted down stepping over other and older footprints from others. The large parasaur bull came to an opening in the tree line as the bright colors of the sandy beaches started to show along with the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks that lined the beach's edge.

“Ah finally here and boy does that water look refreshing , well what am I waiting for let's go get in” Sekhmet said to himself as he trotted across the warm sand seeing many other parasaur who also had come down to the beach to get away from the summer heat. Many of them called out welcoming Sekhmet to join in the fun which he took in a quick fashion. 

As he made his way to the water he passed by many of the things built in the sand such as castles and using shells that younger dinosaurs had collected as they ran around in the sand laughing and playing which put a smile on Sekhmet. Stepping into the water he splashed rushing in before laying down on the ocean floor due to it being shallow enough for him, the cooling water now soaking his black feathers as he dunked his head in before pulling it out and shaking it.

Finally, out of the harsh sun due to the helpful beach water made Sekhmet let out a sigh of being content, looking down as he watched small fish swim around him which caught his attention as he watched them. 

“ wow isn’t it just beautiful down here during the summer, I always want to come here more often but I am often in the forest to far away” He mumbled to himself as he looked out towards the ocean as the waves crashed into young parasaur who also were enjoying the escape from the hot sun that shined above them beating down.

After a while Sekhmet laid his head lower into the water as he blew bubbles in the water playfully with his bill, the wanting to explore the beach popping into his head as he shook out water from his feathers once more.

“ Maybe a walk to dry off down the beach would be a good idea, feathers are a lot thicker than last year” He said to himself as he stood from the water giving one final shake and splashing around playfully to himself before heading towards the shore as other parasaurs walked by also saying hello to him. Once he got to the shore he felt the warm sand engulf his hooves as he smiled to himself feeling the warm sun hit his black and green feathers.

The gleaming of shells in the sand caught his eyes as he walked down the shore yumming to himself , before stopping and nudging a few with his bill he found really nice looking. As he looked around he stopped a large coconut tree that stood tall in the sand giving a good spot for a shady place to rest and enjoy the beach vibes himself after splashing around and playing with others in the water.

“Ah what a great coconut tree! So big and a spot for a shady place to rest!” the male parasaur called out giving a laugh walking towards it passing by many large coconuts that had fallen from it. With a loud thump Sekhmet had laid himself in the sand under the shady coconut tree as he stretched out giving off happy honks.

As he watched everyone enjoy the beach and the calm vibes and fun days it provided for each dinosaur and himself, he didn't mind hanging out here more often as splashing in the water and watching others enjoy the beach was a great experience on its own. With one final smile he laid down in the sand and took in the once annoying heat of the sun but was now warming him up.
