Life’s a Beach - (Summer Seasonal 2024)- Solaris

Hot summer sun, the need for water and some fun was on the mind for every dinosaur who called the island their home. The sound of stomping shook Solaris out of his deep sleep on the floor of the cave that he and his mate Jupiter called home, it meant that Jupiter was on his way to ask something so Solaris braced himself picking up his head in a sleepy way.

“Solaris get up you big sleepy brute, It’s time to go to the beach no more rotting away in this hot cave” The cream color acro yelled out as he kept moving forwards towards Solaris who was already awake due to Jupiters heavy and fast moving steps. The two acro’s had seen many dinosaurs travel down to the lush island's beaches to escape the heat and Solaris was trying his best to avoid going but it seemed he had failed. Jupiter had caught wind of the words around from others and he wanted to go, it was now his turn so no more sleeping for Solaris.

Solaris rolled over and sighed “Fine but I am not going in that water” he huffed before getting to his feet and joining the all too excited Juptier who was already ahead of Solaris “ Hey and wait up! Don't go too far ahead” he called out to Jupiter who turned around waiting for the lazy bones to catch up to him. The two walked side by side down the pathway towards the beach that wasn’t huge but it was on the bend of a cliff a little ways away from the main beach, and the entire way Juptier just talked Solaris’s ear off. “You know the beach isn’t all that bad you cave dweller, it is warm and a fun place to relax” he said to Solaris who was panting from the heat, due to having black and dark feathers the sun clung to him like a magnet.

“Easy for you to say, you don’t overheat! And the sand gets everywhere!” Solaris said as he tried sticking to the shade as they were almost there soon seeing the golden colored sand and glistening water. Jupiter rushed ahead flinging sand up as Solaris frowned but smiled seeing his mate enjoy the relaxing area, maybe it wouldn’t be too bad he just needed to find a comfortable spot if that was even possible. Solaris soon found a semi good spot as he circled around before slumping down into the sand which was warm. Shaking out his feathers from the sand once in a while , the beach was nice; he couldn't lie and with the slight breeze and the water did look inviting.  

“Come on Solaris the water is so nice, don’t just sit in the sand” Jupiter called out who was already soaked in water from splashing around in the ocean enjoying it. With an annoyed face he let out a sigh it couldn’t hurt him to join in the fun, with heavy feet he walked over entering the water, the cooling feeling bringing him instant relief from the heat. Solaris was finally starting to enjoy the beach until feeling a cold wave wash over him , shaking his feathers out to see Jupiter who had splashed him with a ton of water with cackles coming from him.

“Oops Was that too much Solaris” Jupiter snickered at his mate who looked like a wet dog now, awaiting a response from the darker feathered Solaris. With a smile coming across his jaws as he splashed back at Jupiter letting out a relaxed laugh.

“Hah take that, now you're soaked as well not just me” Solaris said laughing as Jupiter started to chase him around with the two splashing around playful chasing one another with each splash. It had been awhile since Solaris enjoyed being outside the cave in the intense heat but this was changing his mind. After a bit more playing around the two now soaked decided it was time to relax and enjoy the heat of the sun and maybe some sand castle building or shell collecting which Juptier loved to do. Bringing them back to the cave was the best thing as they made it feel more homey to the carnivores.

“Look at all the shells Jupiter let's grab some and take them to the cave they would look great” Solaris said to him as he picked up some in his jaws as they walked along the beach, with Juptier stopping and bringing more to Solaris who had to hold them while he looked for more. With a big smile the two nuzzled one another as they looked over the shells , and with that today was a good day spent at the beach even for Solaris who wasn’t a fan of it. It was home time now, back to the cave.
