Red eyes scanned the golden sand that coated the beaches on the island as a grey face followed by white jaws, and a low growl from the throat of the predator. From the trees Zack emerged licking his jaws, he was on the hunt but for a specific type of prey for himself and that was shark. Zack was a skilled hunter and the talk on the island amongst the other predators was that there was a new prey on the menu and that was shark, and they provided a good fight.
Zack had headed to the beach and watched from awareness taking into account how the ocean was and the weather because it could be dangerous and not to mention the other predators that would be coming here to do what he was doing. But after watching from a distance for a while the young predator made his choice to move forwards as these were the perfect conditions for hunting.
“Well well let's get the hunt on, I am hungry for some shark they shouldn’t be too hard to catch right?” he clicked to himself as he walked on the sand silently as he soon reached the tide pools in where he had heard most sharks rested during the late hours of the day. Staying silent in the water now was the task for the adaptable hunter, feeling the cold water inch up his scales as he looked around for movement.
“Now to stay silent in the water, shouldn’t be too hard right” he clicked to himself as he lifted his feet silently and slowly making sure every step had purpose. Zack had his claws at the ready as he kept his red eyes on the water looking for any movement he could catch with them, he wasn’t sure how the encounter would go since he had never hunted the sharks before but always saw them in the water very scarcely.
After a few moments Zack stopped a tail tip move from under some large rocks in the tide pool he was standing in, it was a shark and it seemed to be resting and using the rocks as cover but he wasn’t sure how large it was from where he was standing but his eyes locked onto his target not moving. With a split second Zack moved quickly as he grabbed the end of the tail with his jaws stepping backwards but being fought back at with splashing of water and thrashing.
He had caught it well or at least had a hold of the unknown fish, the skin was thick and leathery. It was a medium sized shark and it wasn’t happy that the young hunter had grabbed it and now the hunt had begun.
“I got it! It's a shark” Zack growled through his teeth and had the back tail of it as it thrashed and splashed water everywhere causing the tide pool rocks to become slippery. Zack pulled with all his might before feeling his footing coming out from underneath him due to the shark throwing its weight around as he let out a hiss of pain from falling on his side, scraping his scales slightly.
As Zack stood himself back up looking at his scratched up leg letting out an annoyed sigh, he looked ahead of himself as he heard thumping in the sand, his red eyes landing on the medium sized shark that he had caught and lost hold of when he slipped. The shark had landed on the sand and was thrashing around , but he did it and every other dinosaur was right. They did put up a good fight but Zack had caught it as he grinned.
“Man does that look good to eat!, a little leathery but I can make due” Zack growled as he headed towards the shark leaning down devlering a swift bite that killed the shark as it stopped moving. With bloodied jaws Zack sniffed around the shark before digging into the soft underside of it, swallowing the thick and juicy meat and licking his jaws.
“Odd taste but it's good” He mumbled under his breath before taking another bite, Zack was now full as he sat in the sand near the shark looking out into the tide pools where he had found the shark. This was a good hunting spot and he was glad he listened to the talk around the island because it provided a new experience and a good meal. His red eyes scanned once more before standing up and grabbing the shark in his jaws before walking back from where he had come from first when he got to the beach. The hunt was successful and he would return more to hunt the sharks as they provided a unique taste and good thrill of the hunt for Zack and besides he wasn’t planning on getting his meal stolen by any other sharks or dinosaurs for that matter.
