Heavy footsteps thumped on the ground as the weight of a heavy figure had been patrolling the sandy beaches of the island; it was a large male carnotaurus by the name of Virus. He had been out hunting and looking for food but something was pulling the large carnivore towards the ocean today and he couldn’t pinpoint why but he had followed his instincts and it led him here. Virus leaned down and sniffed the sand before lifting his head up and walking towards the water as he shook his head catching some sand particles in his nostrils.
Virus had always liked the water and happened to always wanted to stick near the beaches on the island. Not only did he like the water but the beaches also provided a great food source and little did Virus know he would be getting his nose into a new type of prey. Virus kept his eyes straight as he scanned the shore of the beach walking in the sand trying to see if he could see any movement but nothing was around which annoyed the large carnivore.
As he kept patrolling the beach a loud splashes of water on the closer tide pools to the beach's rocks and it had caught his attention as he headed towards it, smelling the scent of blood he began to get curious and head towards the smell. His eyes widened as he found a large beached whale that had been sitting there for a few days. It looked like to him, as the sound of squawking tropes and other flyers above who were scavenging from it.
“Ooo thats a good meal” he grumbled to himself as he stood at the foot of the wet sand, the only problem is the dead whale carcass was out in the deeper part of the tide pools. Virus shifted slightly as he sniffed the water and looked back up at the whale carcass before taking a step into the cold water. His stomach grumbled and he was hungry, passing up a meal so easy would be a waste so with a quick dash Virus was in the water with a loud splash as he made his way to the carcass roaring at any tropes that tried to land.
Virus was a strong swimmer and loved the water when he was younger and nothing had changed since then, but little did the large carnivore know that he was not alone in the water and figures below swam in circles following every move he made. As Virus found a ledge he could find his footing on he snapped at birds that were resting on the carcass as he chased them from the carcass, but as he did the movement of water startled him causing him to turn his attention towards the dark water.
The large shadow of a large fin broke the surface of the water and circled the carcass as more soon swam to the surface making large splashes, Virus was surrounded by a school of hunting hammerhead sharks that were also eyeing the whale carcass.
“There is so many, where did they all come from?” Virus growled to himself as he snapped at many of the various hammerhead sharks that tried to get close and give a curious bite to the large carnivore. The hammerheads were following the scent of blood that had went into the water from the whale carcass and now had eyes on him instead of the carcass with most becoming aggressive and thrashing in the water as they tried to reach Virus who was trying to stick as far back from the water but defend it.
Virus was getting annoyed as he stepped forwards before landing a hard bite on a large hammerhead who had gotten to close to him and was crushed in his jaws as it thrashed around its back fin slapped him in the jaws. Virus letting go as the large hammerhead slumped down below his feet as he let out a final roar as the rest of the board headed sharks began to swim away now.
“I forgot how many of these things litter the water at this time in the summer” he grumbled before tossing the dead hammerhead into the water before turning back to the whale carcass, Virus had scared them off and was now able to to enjoy his meal that he worked hard to protect but he knew it wouldn’t be the last time he would have to deal with the sharp toothed fish. Digging into the whale carcass he paid no mind to the smaller sharks that had come back and were now enjoying the much larger dead hammerhead shark, the new type of shark would be around for a much longer time but now it was just learning how to deal with them. Which Virus had a pretty good handle on.
