The cooling night had set upon the island after a blistering hot day, the sand was cool to the touch and had lost its heat from the day as large claws crushed the sand underneath them. A large purple snout leaning down taking a long sniff before lifting its head back up, Purple eyes scanning the beach as the stars twinkled in the dark skies. Satellite's purple feathers blended into the dark night as he was out on the hunt for some late night fishing, staying quiet as he trotted down the sandy beach looking for a good spot to enter the water.
As he made his way he stopped at a well known tide pool he had frequented often on his late night fishing and it was no different to any other time he would come to the beach. Slowly making his way into the water feeling the coolness of the ocean as he opened his purple eyes before diving underneath the water. Satellite was on the hunt for the various tropical fish that called the ocean home and he was good at hunting but decided to do it at the cover of night due to him blending in.
As the sucho dove he partrolled his usual fishing trail as he moved through the water with ease and using the rocks to propel himself forwards picking up and catching fish in his jaws before scarfing them down before moving forwards again. Little did the night hunter know he was being followed by a bigger fish than he had ever encountered before, it was a hammerhead shark that was using the dark water to keep its cover hidden as it was curious about Satellite still trying to sense the other predator.
Unaware of the danger that lurked behind him Satellite kept fishing as he chased them deeper and deeper past the coral reefs, as Satellite go further out the less he could see of the reefs which sent shivers up his feathers but he kept his pace chasing the other fish still being stalked by the hammerhead shark who was now closing in on the sucho.
Coming to a stop Satellite had caught the glimpse of another figure in the water but it wasn’t small, it was much bigger than the fish he had been catching but shrugged it off before swimming up to the surface as he took in a deep breath.
“I wonder why the fish are so scarce tonight , it's not normal” he grumbled to himself as he kept himself afloat with the water around him silent. With a quick movement the large hammerhead slammed into Satellite who was thrown off from the sudden hit as he dove under the water shaking his trying to lock where his attacker was or what had hit him. His purple eyes scanning the deep abyss that was dark underneath him, his jaws at the ready awaiting the next attack.
“What just hit me, it wasn’t a reef shark it was something much bigger” he said to himself as he swam around slowly catching the glimpse of the hammerhead who was coming in for another attack on him. With quick thinking the large sucho took the impact from the hammerhead head on as he locked his claws onto the shark as it tried to bite him pushing back with his powerful legs due to swimming frequently. The two beats locked in combat as the hammerhead tried to get out of Satellite's grip, but just as it was about to get out Satellite landed a large bite into the dorsal fin of it as he crunched down with all his might.
“This thing is powerful, I can let it go it'll get away and come back” The large sucho thought as he held onto it with all his might he needed to kill the large shark so it couldn’t come back, his fish hunt was now turned into a shark hunt and he had never seen any sharks like the hammerhead before only the small reef sharks that stuck to the shallows of the ocean.
Satellite moved his grip as he lifted his bite from the dorsal fin to the head of the shark crunching its eye socket as it thrashed around in pain, but loosing the grip with his claws and with a quick dart the hammerhead had swam off into the deep abyss of the ocean below. With a big breath Satellite surfaced from the water as he took in a deep breath of air before quickly swimming towards the shore as he got out shaking out his feathers before looking back at the ocean, maybe finishing late like this was not safe anymore.
Shaking out his feathers once more, Satellite had his fill of the ocean for the night and being hunted by a large hammerhead shark wasn’t on his list of things to do. Turning in for the night was the best course of action and the sucho decided to take it.
