Crickets chirped in the night as the island had fallen silent, along with the abandoned city being the one lifely place on the island as night fell that meant all the dark dwellers came out to enjoy the night. Among those would be two familiar faces Merlin and Fracture, the once young juveniles now in their adolescent years but still sticking together as always. They were often a part of the night life during the darker times of the island when the sun went down and exploring the abandoned city further during the night was always the best, at least to them. As the two walked down a cracked road they laughed as they talked about their earlier adventures in the day, the cryo known as Merlin letting out a cackle as she swayed her tail behind her bumping into Fracture playfully who gave off a snicker.

The two were out for an adventure during the night in the abandoned city. Now  that they were older and knew all the in’s and outs of the crumbling corpse of a city they loved adventuring and getting into trouble and tonight was no different than the others. As the two continued down the crumbled road kicking up rocks and Fracture jumping on old metal objects that sat unmoving as she spoke to Merlin who was more focused on trying to figure out where they were at the time, a large grin coming across Fractures jaws as she looked up at her puzzled sister.

“We should go to that old abandoned building and explore Merlin, we have never been there before and tonight is perfect!” Fracture said as she jumped down from the object nudging Merlin playfully. The large female cryo looking wide eyed and jaw dropped at her sister who spoke the sentence she didn’t want to hear as she pushed down a big gulp “you want to go there, thats so dangerous you don’t know what lurks down there” She said as she shook out her feathers with a shudder going through them.

“Come on this way it’ll be fine Merlin we can be quick nothing more” Fracture said as she led the way for the two with Merlin catching up behind her. The two traveled through the quiet streets with the eyes of others watching but sticking to the shadows never coming out fully, Fracture lived for the thrill and usually drug Merlin along with her in her adventures which sometimes got the two in trouble. Soon making their way to the building as the sound of the wind blew through the old rocks and crumbled brick that stood hauntingly with vines growing inside and crawling all over from the age of the structures.

Little did the pair know they were about to stumble into a well known Utahraptors territory and she didn’t like visitors one bit, as she was stalking the intruders already but they didn’t know it yet. Oblivious to the warning signs the two kept trekking forwards as Merlin stopped looking back as if she had felt the presence of something stalking them, with nothing coming of it she shook her feathers out before following Fracture who was far ahead of her.

“Weird I guess it's nothing” She mumbled to herself as she let out a sigh calling out for Fracture to wait up, clearly lost in her own head as she chatted along. The two came to a stop as they looked up at a large sign that was being held up by large overgrown vines although it was so old they couldn’t make out what had been written before, with a dark doorway staring back at them.

“See Merlin I told you it was going to be fine nothing like the old spine shivers to keep you going” Fracture said as she stepped inside waiting for Merlin to join her as spiderwebs hung low causing Merlin to duck slightly.

“We shouldn’t be here. Something feels off” Merlin said as she took in the area looking all around as she leaned down sniffing old objects that lay on the floor. As she stopped looking at her sister who was not listening as she kept going without stopping before she turned around once more letting out a cackle.

“Oh come on Merlin it’s abandoned nothing is her…e” she said as she heard the sound of large claws scraping against metal followed by the feeling of narrowed eyes staring into her soul like a ghost. A unfamiliar voice crawled its way into their heads as it was eerie and serpentine like with each word sounding like a knife as she spoke with Fracture turning around slowly seeing a large black and white utahraptor with eyes that were ghost white.

“Well what do we have here, two young dinosaurs of different species that is an odd one isn’t it” Soul spoke as she jumped down onto the ground as she began to circle the two who were now closer together both on their guard. Fracture stepping forwards towards Soul with her teeth shown as Merlin stayed behind her, before stuttering “we we .. were just leaving, don't mind my sister, Fracture lets go” Merlin said as she stepped forwards to grab Fracture and leave but ruffled her feathers as Soul stepped in front of them getting in their way.

“Leaving so soon, how rude why don’t you stay awhile it gets lonely here without prey around” Soul said as she approached them before lunging at Fracture but was shoved away by Merlin who jumped in front feeling the sharp back talons of Soul dig into her side as her white feathers turned bloody with a hiss coming from Merlin.

“Fracture run now!, get out of the building” Merlin shouted at her sister who was struck with fear, before hissing at Soul as she readed up using her front claws and longer arms to her advantage before shoving Fracture forwards with her tail. Fracture let out a hiss before running with Merlin who was bleeding from the deep gashes from Soul, but they needed to get out quick or outsmart the large female utahraptor which seemed like it wouldn’t be easy.

The two ran, jumping over the objects they once walked over with Fracture in the lead and Merlin not too far behind her. “We can get out this way Merlin, hurry” Fracture said as she looked back to see Soul gaining on them which wasn’t good for Merlin since she was hurt and seemed to be lagging behind. As the two kept running the sound of Souls claws hitting the old metal floor rang in their ears.

“You’re prey now! The chase just makes it more fun” She hissed as she continued to chase them catching up to Merlin who was falling behind due to the wounds she received from Soul blocking the first attack for Fracture. With one misstep Merlin crashed onto the floor letting out a painful hiss as she looked forwards, losing sight of Fracture, as she heard the sound of Soul approaching.

“Looks like your sibling left you behind what a shame, that's why we don’t cross mix i’m going to love eating you” Soul said as she stepped forwards slowly licking her jaws as she stepped onto Merlin pushing her down to the ground making the cryo hiss in pain as she tried to fight back but it was no use. Thoughts ran through Merlins head as she felt the weight of Soul standing on her, but least Fracture would make it out that's all that mattered to her.

“You leave my sister alone!” Fracture hissed as she came jumping out from some hidden objects straight at Soul as she landed a bite on her neck causing them to fall and hit the floor, Fracture wasn’t going to leave Merlin and even if it meant playing with life and death. The two utahraptors scratching and clawing at one another dealt hard hitting blows but Fracture's thick feathers meant she was being protected somewhat from Soul’s talons.

As Soul hit the floor and snapped at Fracture she tried to overpower the much younger Utahraptor but she was too fast and much slicker than she looked. With the two struggling it was giving Merlin time to get to her feet, and away from the fight she knew her sister had it under control enough to get away for herself.

Jumping away Fracture hissed at Soul as the two smelt the scent of blood fill the air which side tracked them slightly to take a small break in the bloody battle,

“Let us leave or you’ll face the wrath of our parents who aren’t far from here” Fracture hissed at Soul who let out a chuckle before shaking herself out and turning away from the young dinosaurs.

“Oh I’ll be ready, don’t come back here or I’ll make sure you don’t leave again” Soul said as she hissed before walking back into the shadows. The two had survived both battered and bruised but alive, it was now time to go home with wounds to lick maybe being curious wasn’t a good idea. Both Merlin and Fracture limped home talking about their close encounter with death but alive.
