It had been some months now and the rainy damp season had passed with the dry and hot season on full blast across the island and with that meant life was blooming, with the sound of wing flaps in the air and splashing around in the ocean. The movement of large herds across the island was a large part of what went on and a small group of shunosaurs who were joining in on the movement were now into their late adolescents still learning about the world around them but now big enough to fend for themselves.

In a clearing the sound of stomping against the hard ground echoed with the shadows of three large figures crawling on the ground while they walked and the one in the lead was a pale white shuno followed by two smaller ones behind him. The brilliant bright blue scales standing out amongst the small herd, it was Lapis and her long time friends who she grew up with during her calf years. They had been put through the harsh years at a young age but now were strong and growing well, enjoying the much warmer season and weather.

“Prometheus, are we even getting close to the grasslands? I feel like we have been walking for ages, everything looks the same” The brightly blue scaled Lapis bellowed in annoyance as she tried to catch up to the young bull who was moving forwards and with a fast pace. with an annoyed neck shake he sighed and stopped looking at Lapis and Romulus.

“ I said I know where I’m going, I overheard some other herbivores talking about the grasslands and it’s massive” he said with a smile before swaying his tail back and forth before turning his head back around “now stop asking me every five minutes” he said before going quiet as the group kept walking not stopping as Prometheus wanted to get there. It was a grassland that was vast and open where most of the island's herbivores went during the nice seasons and it was full of lush vegetation to eat along with free from carnivores and the ones who dared to hunt got chased out.

"Are you sure about that Prometheus, last time you said that we got lost" Romulus said before nudging Lapis playfully as they walked the two trying to keep up to, as she watched Lapis and gave a soft smile "I bet you your mom would have liked it there Lapis, Sad she is no longer here" She added before keeping up with Prometheus who was taking to keep at this task and way he was going.

Lapis and Romulus had always heard Prometheus talk about it but always thought he was joking because he had never been and they only ever heard about it from others, but the two were getting impatient and all the walking was getting tiring for the young herd but they had to keep going. After a while they had come out of a clearing from  the thick forest finding a dried cracked pathway of dirt with footprints imprinted into the ground along with the plants around eaten.. They were getting closer.

“Look at all these Romulus, they were other herbivores, maybe more of our kind! What do you think?” Lapis said as she leaned down to get a closer look with Romulus shaking her head playfully with a small laugh before she spoke softly.

“Maybe Lapis, but we can’t be sure lots of herbivores move across the island” She added before walking past Lapis who was too distracted by the new found clues maybe they were getting closer or at least it seemed like it, which they were just a bit longer.

As Prometheus walked ahead the other two followed and Lapis held her head a bit low only remembering that maybe her mother had come her during her life-time but she couldn’t be sad as she shook out the thought from her head before trotting up to catch up to Prometheus and Romulus who were ahead, with the pale bull stopping as they came to a large opening followed by the sound of many bellows of different kinds. 

“I think we are here guys, hurry I can hear all those calls!” Prometheus said as he stomped forwards pushing past the tree line that was beside the path they had been traveling on for the last little while. As they got closer to the clearing the sky brightened with the vast view of the grasslands that had a large stream running down to a lake. The lands were lush with many herbivores who had also made the journey enjoying what the grasslands had to offer for them, some in the water fishing for the lakeweed that sat in the bottom of the small stream.

Many different types of herbivores were traveling and making the grassland their home with parasaur herds eating the grass, and large herds of styracosaurus who were sparring kicking up dust with the sound of their horns clashing with it echoing across the vast open area.

The three young shuno’s with dumbfounded looks across their faces but Prometheus with a smile, he was right all along and trusted his gut. Before he let out a honk of excitement along with stomping his feet underneath him “I told you the grasslands were real you guys didn’t believe me” he added before looking at Lapis and Romulus who were also shocked that he was right for once. Prometheus said as he reared up on his back legs kicking at the air before spotting a herd of shuno's "Hey look over there , it's a herd! lets go" He added before walking forwards awaiting Lapis and Romulus who were still catching up  to him before laying eyes on the grassland area.

The small herd moved as they walked down a small grassy hill looking and passing all the herbivores who were surprised to see shuno’s travel this far, but it seemed like they were the only ones of their kind to travel this far which was a bit of a let down.

“Whoa look at all the other herbivore’s! Those are styracosaurus and parasaur!”  Lapis honked out as she watched the brute herbivores thrash about, while walking by the more peaceful parasaur herds. It was a sanctuary the group had never seen before and it was amazing, a moment they would hold close to them and cherish for the many years to come for the trio who finally got to experience the grasslands for themselves.

“Well what are we waiting for, let's go! And explore Romulus and Prometheus” Lapis said, rushing ahead eager to explore the grasslands with the two as a group, the ones she would never forget and this would be a memory and a moment they would always keep close. The three stomped down to go introduce themselves into their new world, the three young shuno's making their way to the shuno herd that awaited them in the distance.

"Finally another herd, maybe its our old one" Romulus said out as she nudged Prometheus and Lapis playfully with Prometheus nodding back and Lapis giving out a giggle, the three finally had found a place where they belonged it was now just to fit in which they would do easily.
