A fierce storm slammed across the island with the rain being heavy and harsh, most seeking shelter where they could and others being not fortunate enough to make it out and had to face the unforgiving weather. Far off into the forest near the flooding streams was a large female sucho nesting along with a few others, each mother covering the eggs they lay on protecting them from the cold rain. Shivers ran down the two’s bodies as they shook out their feathers to try to regain body heat but it wasn’t very helpful to them.

The much larger female stood as she shifted her weight to cover her eggs more because cold eggs meant dead eggs, with most others abandoning them to seek shelter from the storm. With a grumble the much younger female let out a hiss from her jaws “It’s not getting better and it’s beginning to flood. We should seek shelter and hope the eggs make it” She said looking down at her small clutch that was only three eggs.

“I won’t leave my eggs and you know that, you should put them before you” The much larger sucho hissed as she closed her eyes shivering, the water from the stream beginning to creep up on the land as it started to flood, with the sound of heavy footsteps squishing in the mud beside them, the large female looking up to see the much younger mother taking the harsh decision so leave her eggs in exchange for a safer area to wait out the storm. As the young female stood she paused looking back before letting out a sigh and softly spoke “Maybe next year little ones” She said before disappearing into the heavy rainfall.

As the female took off, only left was the large female who watched the eggs sit in a cold nest before she stood up and approached it, picking up the remaining eggs that weren’t cold in her jaws and taking them back to her nest, nuzzling them in carefully. Most first time nesters abandoned eggs when it got too harsh for them but the much more experienced mothers were harderend and ready to endure. As the storm got worse the more it flooded causing the little land area they had been nesting on to get flooded and wet which caused a concern for the female who now looked around to check what was going on.

“Flooding… not good I can’t sit here for much longer and the eggs will get cold”  She mumbled before looking for a better place to take the eggs to that wouldn’t flood, standing up she leaned down carefully taking each egg in her jaws before looking back at her nest once before starting a cold journey to a cave that had been nearby hoping it would be dry and a place to rest.

After a little while the cave she had spotted came into sight as she gave a grumble of relief but something was off about it and made the experienced female wary. Coming to the small cave she poked her head inside stepping on old nesting material that was scattered over the rocky surface that piqued her interest, making her venture further into the dry area with the eggs safely in her jaws. 

Another egg lay in the cave which caught her eye that she scooped up into her jaws bringing all her now eggs into the cave before making a makeshift nest and laying down closing her eyes before falling asleep but something was wrong as the once stoic female now laid unmoving as she succumbed to the cold weather and harsh weather conditions.

As the three eggs began to crack shortly after three brand new hatchlings were in the world but one looked off from the others and it was from the abandoned egg, from the sucho eggs hatched a feathered pale gray sucho and front he other a pale gray scaled sucho. The sounds of chirping went unanswered by the motionless mother who used her last ounce to save her own and others but the sounds from the other hatchlings began to speak to one another as they fought their way out of the egg’s tough shell.

With the cracking of shells three brand new hatchlings rolled onto the cold wet cave floor all looking at one another with the two being sucho’s and the one abandoned egg being a skinny cryo hatchling who instantly made her way over to them being born without feathers she was cold and sitting together they would receive heat from huddling and the three began to cuddle up looking around to see the large body of the female sucho that made these three cross paths due to her maternal instinct, the three would never understand the reasoning but it was just them now. As the fresh hatchlings tried to get their feet under them they learned the first lesson and that was walking with each stubby hatchling falling over a few times as they smacked into one another but finally getting their bearings.  

The much larger sucho hatchling who had feathers and went by the name of Castle stood up on his wobbly legs making his way to the body of the mother before looking back at his new found siblings and chirping at them to come closer before shaking out his feathers due to the cool air, with quick movements Typhoon and Abandon got to their feet joining Castle as they held their head down low seeing the large sucho had passed away.

With Abandon being the outcast as she didn't really belong due to being a different speices of dinosaur but being so young she didn't know  the difference and Castle along with Typhoon didn't seem to mind welcoming the small cryo into the clutch of hatchlings, the three of them cuddled together trying to fight the freezing wind that blew outside from the storm.

“What do we do, was that our mother” the three of them whispered silently as they looked around in the dark cave seeing the old nesting material around leaning down to sniff it before huddling close to one another, it was a harsh lesson in a harsh world growing up without parents but some hatchlings weren’t as lucky and these three were no different. 

“ we can’t stay here it’s not safe, and I don’t think she will get up” Typhoon said to the others as he wasn’t aware of what death was all about but the instincts in him told him to not stay here and the others were feeling it to as Abandon hid behind her new found siblings even if she looked different but they didn’t seem to mind since they were so young.

Castle looked around before turning his head away and ushering his siblings out of the cave taking one look back at the cave with the figure of their mother and it was time to leave it behind, but maybe it was all about fate for these three lucky hatchlings eggs to come together. Born into an unforgiving world the three now would have to overcome many obstacles with one another  but hey least they had each other and off into the night the three went into the trees as they disappeared leaving their hatching ground empty and cold back to silence with no life.

as the three hatchlings made their way outside with Castle in the lead and his two new found siblings not far behind him, the storm had calmed down but the smell of fresh hatchlings brought not the greatest attention , as predators had picked up on the scent with a small group of cryo's tracking them as they walked through the forest sticking close to the thick foliage. 

Tyhpoon looked around as Abandon chased behind him playfully letting her gaurd down but also not knowing the dangers that lurked around, with Castle in the lead trying to figure out where they should go and doing his best to keep the others in check with him being the oldest by a few moments.

"Be quiet you two, what if something is around we are way to small to do anything about it" Castle said whispering as he stopped mid sentence as a crest peaked over the tall foliage infront of them. Abandon pausing as she saw movement followed by Typhoon who also froze their instincts kicking in.

Through the brush poked a head full of teeth and bright eyes letting out low growls as it stepped forwards taking in the three hatchlings scents, Castle backing up as he chirped letting out a growl trying to hold is ground. The cryo's had found the three and fresh hatchlings made the perfect meal for these predators, but as the cryo opened its jaws a small roar came from Abandon who growled at the cryo.

" Back away from my siblings!" She hissed using all her might but was just laughed at by the cryo's who stepped forwards closing the gap on the hatchlings , Typhoon and Castle getting ready to do their best to scare off the predators letting out small roars but before they let out another a full grown roar left a dinosaurs jaws above them ringing their ears as it was loud.

Castle and Typhoon looking at eachother in shock before looking up to see a large sucho with a white feathered face and red eyes, heavy footsteps followed behind them. 

"Hey look a adult, it looks like you Castle and Typhoon" Abandon chirped looking up at the new stranger who had put himself inbetween himself and the cryo's who let hisses out now focused on the large sucho who went by the name of Rocket's red glare.

As the stranger sucho stood there growling at the cryo's sizing them up, he was here to protect the hatchlings. 
"Stay back you three" He growled looking at the three before turning his attention back towards the predator as they flung onto Rocket letting out hisses and growls but were countered quickly by the large sucho as he picked one up slamming it into the ground.

Abandon,Tyhpoon and Castle ducked hiding away watching the battle unfold it being their first time ever seeing a clossal battle happen in their life times, and it would be a valuable thing they would carry with them into their adult years. after a quick few more growls and snaps the cryo pack had run off leaving Rocket battered and bruised but he had come out on top protecting the three who soon came out to greet their protector.

"Are you okay Mr! that looked like it hurt alot, thank you for protecting us" Castle said with the other two joining in on the thankful words, the large sucho nodding and laying down to rest from his wounds.

"How about you three stick with me, it seems like you are lost" Rocket said inviting the three hatchlings near him which they took quickly snuggling all three of them together , crossing paths by fate and it was a good one, looking bright for Castle,Abandon and Tyhpoon.
