MQ - Toast - Clean Up on Kaima Isle

The dirt coloured cryo scouted the blooming island with her yellow eyes, looking for anything she could find that would perhaps be out of place or littering the flourishing spring nature. It was almost summer, even, and she couldn't stand the thought of nature looking like some trashed back alley with litter and garbage lying around, it would simply be unacceptable and disrespectful to the coming season.

She had seen an old, slightly broken laundry basket that was stuck in a bush, she had quickly gone over, grabbed it and yoinked it out of there, proudly putting it on the ground so she could collect other trash and drag it around in it.

It was mostly plastic lying around, a lot had probably resurfaced after everyone had found the alpha labs she thought, it was inevitable that trash also got out. She even found some broken furniture and tattered towels and cloth that were perhaps once upon a time clothes for humans, she couldn't be sure.

In the middle of her self assigned cleaning duty, Toast could hear some commotion a bit further away, it sounded like some kind of animal in distress, calling for help. She made her way over and saw a helpless little rodent which had gotten stuck in some plastic which was tightening around its throat as it kept struggling. While it could've been easy prey for the carnivore, she would rather help the poor creature than have an easy meal. She was not even hungry right now so it didn't sit right with her to abuse this situation.

She made her way over and picked up the little mammal who was now struggling even more due to the fear of being eaten alive, but once it noticed Toast’s gentle and careful grasp and how she tried her best to cut away the plastic with her claws, the stressed out rodent calmed down and relaxed a bit, but Toast could still feel the heart beating hard and fast against her palm.

After not too much trouble, the plastic had loosened up enough for the kind cryo to be able to just pull it off, which she carefully did, and after that she carefully bent down and let the little rodent scurry away in the tall grass. It was so fast she could not even see properly which way it disappeared. She smiled and placed the torn up plastic in the laundry basket along with all the other trash she had already collected. She felt good about helping that poor rodent out, even though she realistically knew it was most likely inevitable that some other, less generous predator would get it as a meal sooner or later.

Toast went on and kept cleaning up on the island, she could see some other dinosaurs doing the very same thing further away and was relieved that others also had the same idea as her. This island was their home and both the environment and habitants deserved to live and flourish freely without all this awful trash lying around.

She did occasionally find some metal scraps and cans lying around as well, which she quickly picked up so hopefully no one would get hurt. Her laundry basket started to almost overflow with all this awful garbage so she was trying to scout out a good area to empty the basket to make it more efficient for her to pull around. After some searching, she was just about ready to give up and just pour it in a pile right then and there out of sheer frustration, but she eventually spotted others in the distance, seemingly heading someplace together with their trash in tow, so Toast decided it was best to follow them, but perhaps from a distance so they wouldn't feel threatened or uncomfortable with her presence. There were mostly herbivores among the other group after all, so she did feel like she'd be intruding on them if she tried to tag along.

After finally being able to empty her basket out, the now rather tired cryo was about ready to call it quits for the day. She stopped in her tracks and looked up at the cloudy sky, taking in the scenery before closing her eyes a bit. The mild winds and scent of all the flowering plants filled her lungs and for a moment she was so in tune with nature that she could almost feel every individual strand of grass brushing against her feathered feet. She took a deep breath, shook her feathered body a bit, before finally moving on, though she decided she was more than over picking up litter and trash and was now trying to figure out what else she could do before returning home to her girlfriends, and out of nowhere, an idea struck her.

There were plenty of seeds and nuts that maybe she could help bury into the ground to speed up growth, she thought, and instantly made it her new mission to plant whatever she could find. She admittedly had very little experience in plants, seeing as she was a full-time carnivore, but she was hoping that something she did would help revitalize the island flora.

After some foraging Toast had gathered up plenty of things that, in her eyes, looked very much like things you could plant. Among those things were some acorns, en off flowers and twigs with leaves still on them. In her inexperienced eyes, a broken off twig was just a small tree, so clearly it could grow into a bigger tree. It all made sense to her, and she couldn't be prouder of herself for figuring that out.

A couple of hours of digging and planting quickly passed, and she looked up at the sky once more. It was getting darker, so she felt it was appropriate to head back home. Tired and sore from working all day, she was more than ready for some snuggles with her raptor girls, and she knew they would be home to welcome her with some good food and plenty of love.
