Minnow is quite small, even for an atopo, but that doesn't stop her from being able to get around. Short legs are made for scampering. Despite her size, she's quite fast and is incredibly agile and flexible, able to squeeze into small spaces as a quick getaway. Her feathers are sleek and water-repellant, but are often splayed up at odd angles and spiked with mud after a long day of hard play.
Notable Traits: Aside from her size, Minnow has no other notable traits.
Personality
Chipper, playful, energetic, loud - Minnow is here to have a good time. She's fond of splashing through streams, rivers, lakes, ponds, and other waterways, though she much prefers bodies of freshwater as opposed to saltwater. It's nothing against her friends that love to swim in the deep blue, she's just...terrified of the deeper waters beyond the bay. There are big, scary things that can hide in the dark, and there are far fewer places to hide in the wide open waters. As friendly as she is, Minnow is also a bit of a coward. She'll retreat at the first sign of trouble, often to murky waters and the cramped, shadowy spaces that she can best hide herself in until the trouble - real or perceived - has passed.
History & Relations
Minnow is of the rather bizarre situation of being raised by...a terrestrial dinosaur. Not even one that walks on four limbs, like she does. Minnow was adopted by a theri by the name of Baithook, who has apparently raised quite a few lost atopos under his care. It was a bit of an odd childhood, though Minnow never realised until she was older how strange her situation was. Learning to swim was interesting at first, but easier with her siblings Goby and Mudskipper joining her in the water. Though odd, Minnow quite adores her family. It was a happy, easy life.
Unfortunately, she has a bit harder of a time making her way back to visit nowadays - she's on the entirely wrong island. Running away from trouble, Minnow pushed herself into a hole in a flat wall and found herself in a strange cave. A...very strange cave, that just kept going. And going, and going, and going; and suddenly she could see through the cave, into water. She'd stumbled upon the tunnels linking the islands, and now she stared up at the sea creatures from below. Fish that she'd never seen before and oh, that was an aristo time to go!
She ran through the tunnels for what felt like an eternity, and as soon as it opened up to daylight again, she found herself a hole to curl up in and hide so she could rest. But now that she was on the new island...there was a whole new world to explore!
And it was almost more scary than the volcanic island. There were so many new faces, and not all of them were very friendly. In one escape attempt, Minnow quite literally fell out of trouble, landing in a stream, in a cave. Luckily, the cave was full of friendly faces! Tapejaras that she'd later learn were members of Beedle's Hideout, which was the cave that she'd fallen into. They directed her and escorted her to a nearby group of atopos that had established themselves in a pool in a cave nearby. She was delighted to see so many atopos in one place. It wasn't quite the little pond that she was used to, but she was excited to meet everyone and explore this new place with some atopos that she could consider friends. Extended family, perhaps.
Fun Facts:
- Minnow absolutely loves to play-wrestle, but will only do so with other atopos
- She'd be very sad if you ate her tiny fish friends. Minnow loves her namesake fish
- Often gives gifts to other dinos, especially nice shells, rocks, or aquatic flowers.
