Nickname: also goes by his birth name Sprawl, though he prefers Leyline.

Personality Description:  Leyline is a calm and collected sty, very good at empathizing and matching the emotions of those around him. he knows more than he realises, even when he thinks he realises all he knows. Leyline was largely considered a strange calf by most of his herd, and was minorly ostrasized for it, though he didn't let it affect him. his strangeness was due to his unnatural intelligence- he knew things the elders had only heard of in secondhand stories from their own parents, he could tell what those strange symbols in the buildings said, and he could pick up patterns swifter than anyone.

Leyline doesn't have those colors, but he does have the accidentaly-better-than-the-original-plan, half broken version of the genes. instead of displaying vibrant shows of luminous colors, the gene beefed up the parts of his brain dealing with problem-solving and creative thinking. he's not anywhere near human-levels of intelligence, but his head can do a lot of things that he can barely figure out himself.
luckily, there's someone on isla kela who can.
Teague the Seeking-heart may not have Leyline's ability to read, but he does have the natural brainpower to infer from context the meanings of the strange texts Leyline digs up. together they're attempting to read all the literature on isla Kela, but its very, very, very slow going. and half the time they can't even say the words right, relying on occasional help from electronic readouts if they mash enough buttons. and most of the time they still have no clue what they mean.
maybe one day they'll find the computer banks of isla kela at the right moment, when the solar panels are charged, or when lightning has struck, and they'll figure out text to speech, and then they'll really be moving.
until then, they're just having fun.

His heartname was given by his herd, who wasnt really sure what to do with him, and its reflected in his name. he wasn't afraid, they were.

Leyline got his name from a map and research paper he found in one of the Morpheus facilities. he couldnt make heads nor tails of the whole thing, but he happened to meet a passing tapejara who of course had the birds-eye view of the whole situation, and informed him that the mass of squiggles was the island. upon long deliberation over both the map and the paper, he noticed one word was repeated both in the paper and also labelling the lines that transcected the island.

he pronounces it totally wrong though. he can't help it.
(he pronounces it lee-lin, but we can all still say Leyline of course. we're smarter than the average dinosaur, i'd say.)

Physical Description: a very normal styracosaurus, though he looks perpetually squint-eyed from peering at lettering.
