Weight: Slim
Height: Short
Length: Average
She's a bit small, but don't let her height lull you into a false sense of security. She's fast, she's agile, and she's as at home in maneuvering tight forests as she is racing across an open field. Being that she is one of the smaller cryos on the island, however, she prefers to stick to the treeline where she knows that she can make a fast getaway if the need arises.
Notable Traits: Salmon's crest is whole, creating a smooth and unbroken wave with slight rippling along the edges
Personality
Salmon is easily amused and in turn likes to amuse, taking after her mother Firefly and delighting in the simple acts of play and harmless mischief. She's an enjoyer of the little things, like watching the stars come up over the horizon as night falls over the islands. Getting lost in these small events means that she's a bit of a dreamer, but generally has very good awareness of her surroundings. She sees the good in others, but woe be upon the one that tries to push her good faith too far. Salmon has inherited a small amount of her father's temper; if she is pushed, she will push back.
History & Relations
Salmon hatched in the spring, knowing very little hardship until her first winter when the chill came and prey was harder to find, even in the jungle that she called home. Even then, the winter wasn't terribly lean, and the spring that followed brought the bounty back in full. Life was easy, and peaceful. Her days were filled with the joy of exploration and gentle mischief that comes with a playful parent and a clutch-mate. Dia was a little rough and maybe a little bossy sometimes, but she made for a great playmate when Firefly was away. From time to time, she also enjoyed playing with her half-brother Mako. She looks back fondly on the days when Trout would teach the two of them how to properly fish in the rivers and streams.
When she was old enough, Salmon left her mother's company to find her own section of forest, which butted up nicely against a riparian zone where the river met the sea. She didn't exactly welcome intruders with open arms, but she made little effort to drive them away, knowing that they'd likely move on sooner or later. Isla Kela is a large island, it made sense that she'd encounter others from time to time, particularly given her own tendency to wander.
A trip downriver meant a fateful encounter with Fable, another lone cryo who had claimed territory at the mouth of the river and along the beach. She was rather standoffish at first and altogether uncertain of Salmon. And yet, for one reason or another, the two made more and more excuses to encounter one another. Fable was curious about the jungle that Salmon came from, Salmon wanted to see the sea, Fable missed the sound of Salmon's laugh, Salmon missed that faux-sour look on Fable's face whenever Salmon teased her. It was nice to find company with another cryo, and with Fable, specifically.
Eventually, Salmon made the decision to join Fable, joining her on the shore. She's even convinced Fable that company isn't always a bad thing, even despite some rocky introductions. Meeting another half-sibling was perhaps the most disastrous; a lone male had wandered onto the beach, and the random intrusion caught the pair by surprise. Before things got out of hand, however, Salmon stepped in. She recognised the bright marks on his arms and feet as the same ones that her father had. Zephyr had come to the beach in search of his sister and indeed, found one, though not the sister that he had in mind.
The odd pair Ezekiel and Amaruq have also made for interesting company from time to time, though she's rather more fond of chatting with the more conversational Ezekiel.
