Notable Traits
Underweight for his size, though still towering over most suchos. His feathers are usually unkempt and rough-looking. His features seem a bit “stretched,” giving him a slender, almost heron-like appearance. He bears significant scarring over his face, neck, and body, and is blind in his left eye.

Interactions
Fade prefers to stay out of attention, keeping more to himself and a trusted few. He has a strong paternal drive, and is especially protective of his family and younger members of the bask that can’t protect themselves yet.

If at all possible, he prefers to find solutions that don’t involve a fight.

While he can have a high temper, he struggles to stand up for himself - physically and mentally.

History

Fade’s youth was a constant struggle. He fought often with his siblings - particularly Hyperion. Their mother’s lack of attention allowed Hyperion to brutally injure him when they were still young, and he still bears those scars.

Their mother Susurrus eventually grew tired of Hyperion’s behaviour, and chased him off. Fearing that she might turn on him, he left as well. His life alone was not much better than his time with Susurrus. He struggled to fend for himself, and even more so when he adopted another young sucho named Austa.

When he heard that Hyperion had founded a bask, he reluctantly asked to join him, for Austa’s sake. Hyperion permitted it, on the condition that he help the bask and not be dead weight. Fade took to babysitting the bask’s growing number of hatchlings, many of which he "adopted." This included Inspirational, who Susurrus brought to the bask after the young sucho was blinded due to injuries sustained by human garbage. Hyperion was disinterested, and Fade took her under his wing.

Life in the bask fell into a peaceful rhythm, for the most part. Fade even grew interested in one of the bask’s newer members, enamoured by the strange “southern drawl” that Ruaidhri had and his sweet words. But the peace didn’t last. Hyperion grew increasingly aggressive and irresponsible with the power his leadership gave him, leading to unrest. It was worse when Hyperion’s mate, Obsidian, had a clutch of hatchlings.

It wasn’t long after that tragedy struck the bask, and changed Fade’s life once again. A powerful storm swept across the bay, and lightning caused explosions across the territory with repeated strikes of oil train cars. Fade was caught in one of the blasts, severely wounded and left half-blind.

Hyperion grew even more aggressive after the tragedy, and began to push Fade and others around even more. Inspirational snapped before Fade did - and challenged Hyperion for leadership. She came out on top, and asked that Fade join a sort of “council” to help her guide the bask to a better future.
