Interactions
Doruk has a hard time staying in any one spot for long, but enjoys a bit of conversation and company. He especially loves to entertain with stories of his youth and extravagant tales of how he got his scars.
He prefers to spend less time in crowds and more time with friends and family, or on his own exploring new places.
Being a poor fighter, he prefers to avoid conflict if he can, but will stand his ground in a scuffle if forced into it.
History
Doruk grew up in a small family pack which cemented a love of adventure in his heart from an early age. He left with his brother Keket when they were old enough, only to be separated from him when they were attacked by another pack of raptors.
Doruk thought Keket dead, and left severely wounded, he had little choice but to join up with another group while he recovered. He ended up staying with the pack for some time, even adopting Lyva, a young raptor, who was in rough shape. He stayed long enough to see her have her own hatchlings, but began to feel too bound to the pack’s activities, with not enough room to roam.
Until he realised that the carefree lifestyle he’d lead until that point had left him with a clutch of hatchlings - the result of a fling with Signe. He didn’t want to leave her alone with them, wanted to be there for his children.
And he was - until the pack he was with was attacked by another group of utahs, which abducted Lyva. Doruk fought to keep her safe, but ended up losing badly. He didn’t have the strength to return, and instead was found and cared for by a pair of utahs that lived in an inn. He believed Lyva dead.
When he was recovered, he left their care to find Signe again, who had decided that since their hatchlings were old enough, she was taking them to the Shipyard bask.
Doruk left with her, only to encounter Keket on the journey there. He was shocked, having thought that Keket was dead this whole time, and torn with indecision. Keket wanted to stay with Doruk, but didn’t want to stay with the bask. Knowing that he could always come back to the bask, and not knowing whether or not he’d ever see Keket again, Doruk reluctantly left with his brother. They traveled together, roaming across the islands. Their relationship was slow to recover, but their bond slowly strengthened to what it was when they were younger. They became a pack of their own - the Lost Wind pack.
They returned to Kela from time to time to visit with the Shipyard bask, Doruk wanting to make sure he wasn’t totally absent from his hatchling’s lives. It was during one of these visits that they learned the bask had been struck by tragedy, and destruction. A storm had wrecked the territory, leaving many grievously wounded, or worse.
Doruk, terrified for his hatchlings, decided to stay for a while to help the bask rebuild. Keket, not wanting to leave his brother again, stayed with him until the bask was recovered. Though not fully wanting to leave again, Doruk also couldn’t fully find it in himself to stay, so he and Keket struck off to wander the islands once again - taking his daughter Solveig with him, when she expressed a desire to join them.
It was during this time that they encountered Prototype, a raptor that had apparently grown up inside the Alpha lab and knew very little in terms of survival outside the facility. Doruk invited her to travel with them, and though she was reluctant at first, agreed. Their relationship was a slow one. Doruk grew more and more fond of her tenacious spirit and wit, and with time, saw his affection returned.
