A slender sucho that always looks like he's up to something. He often wears a sly and wicked grin, like he's in on some joke that you don't quite get just yet. He has a piercing blue gaze, his eyes alive with mischief, temptation, and trouble.

Notable Traits: Rows of spikes follow his spine along his neck, shoulders, hips, and tail. The claws on his hands are unusually long, and their shape is not unlike fishhooks.

Personality
Deaglán has taken all of his mother's slyness and all of his father's snarkiness and turned it into a charming, smooth-talking persona. He was never very strong, so he found other ways of settling debates: quick wit and a silver tongue. His emotional ties to anyone that isn't family is extremely fleeting and he has difficulties truly connecting with anyone on a deeper level, but he doesn't let it get to him. So he says, anyway. Deaglán enjoys the life of a bachelor, where spending his free time causing trouble and raising hell with his pack when he's not vying for the attention of someone he's found interest in.

History & Relations
Deaglán's early life was...unremarkable. Peaceful, actually. The sort of storybook childhood that's impossible to argue with. He and his brother, Ruaidhri, hatched to their single mother, Tempest, after their parents had a quick fling, and it was with her that they'd spend their early years. It wasn't long after that when another young sucho joined their little family, Bruno being adopted after he washed up in the swamp after a particularly rough storm.

Bruno ended up being great fun to be around. He matched the chaotic young suchos perfectly - but always seemed to like Ruai just a little bit more than he liked Deaglán. Deaglán didn't let it get to him, of course. So what if Bruno liked Ruai more?

He'd have plenty of company when Ketla, his father, returned later with another hatchling in tow. Deaglán made it his mission in life to watch out for his little half-sister, Charlie, and was always plenty ready to size up the local swamp creatures if she ever found herself in a confrontational situation. This was, of course, something that Osa - another much, much larger resident of the swamplands - found laughable whenever he tried to fight her.

Deaglán started causing a little more trouble as he got older. Nothing ever very serious, primarily just badgering locals and stealing things from others. He fancied himself quite the sweet-talker as well, occasionally getting into flings that never lasted more than a few weeks - or a few days, if he was feeling particularly uninterested. Ultimately, he decided that it was best for him to move on. It had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Ruaidhri was also gone, or that he had gotten on Tempest's last nerve.

For a while, Deaglán is alone, until he finds a group of like-minded suchos lead by one Captain Snakehead. Deaglán had found a treasure that he wanted, and it was almost within his grasp as he chatted up the owner - until Snakehead crashed the party with his first mate. They fought over the rights to claim the treasure, until they remembered that they weren't alone. It was better to work together if they wanted to get away intact (and with the treasure that they were after in the first place). Thanks to some quick-thinking from Deaglán, they managed to flee - with the treasure in tow. Snakehead allows him to take the treasure, offering Deaglán a place in his pack, should he want in on more action. Deaglán took some time to consider the offer, ultimately coming to the decision that...that escapade was fun. It was more fun than he had had in a long time, and he had gotten something glittery out of it.

Deaglán returned, accepting Snakehead's offer.

It was strange, actually having to listen to someone whenever they gave orders, but it was a sacrifice that Deaglán was willing to make. The Snakehead crew was wild and carefree, spending their days doing whatever tickled their fancy - and he loved it. Finding the best "treasure" whenever they raided another territory rapidly became one of Deaglán's favourite pasttimes. He strived to be the best, which occasionally got him some ill attention from those that he was stealing from - like Dace, of the Shipyard bask. She seemed to be especially unimpressed, and has gotten in his way more than once. He finds her terribly irritating.

He eventually began to look up to Snakehead, and felt a sense of duty that he should look out for and take care of other members of the crew. While not particularly strong, he was always ready to scuffle, should someone find themselves in a tough situation where they needed backup.

Though not the life he expected to lead, it has nonetheless become one that he is quite pleased with. There is very little wrong with his world, and he is content to spend the rest of his days exactly as he is now - raiding, partying, and generally causing a ruckus.

Fun Facts:

  • Deaglán is a fantastic sprinter and has high stamina; he can run for long distances without tiring
  • As much as he'd like to not admit, he has inherited some of his father's fascination for sparkly things
