Annatar: The name Sauron donned during the Second Age of Middle-Earth, taking the form of an elf; to influence Celebrimbor into making the Rings of Power in order to control the rulers of Middle-Earth. Yet the three elven rings were made by Celebrimbor without him. He also manipulated King Ar-Pharazôn into causing the fall of the island of Numenor into the sea, making the planet of Arda round. Such an act caused Sauron to never again be able to take any beautiful form.
