Notable Traits
Her feathers are incredibly soft, and she appears to have never entirely lost her baby down, which still sometimes peeks from beneath her feathers. Her feathers are not good at repelling water, and she can get drenched and cold rather easily. Her middle toe on her right foot was bitten off, and her right kill claw has been slightly ground down due to an altered gait.

Interactions
Chalcedony is extremely affectionate towards her family and other members of the bask. She’s always been wary of the raptors that live near, but not with the bask, warned from a young age that they will attack and eat the bask’s young.

She’s wary of most other raptors, unsure of exactly who all is with the aggressive raptor pack, but is extremely trusting and warms up to strangers quickly if they’re at all friendly towards her.

Once she’s warmed up to someone, she’s incredibly playful and enjoys playing by chasing, pouncing, and roughhousing.

History

Chalcedony hatched in the Shipyard bask not long before her mother, Signe, would move on again. She ended up spending much of her younger life sticking close to her father, Splatterball, but rapidly grew into an energetic and doting personality who adored her large, strange family.

The night that a severe storm caused massive - and explosive - damage to the bask shook the young utah. There were so many bask members hurt, so much destruction. She didn’t fully know how to process it, and to some degree, still hasn’t. To make matters worse, the bask changed leadership not long afterwards. The leadership change was a welcome one, but still, alarming in the way that it was achieved.

She’s still a bit quiet around the bask, wary that something else might go wrong just as things are starting to settle down again, but optimistic and hopeful that the bask will have a brighter future after this hardship. Unfortunately, a lot of the optimistic persona has become a bit of a front - she was deeply scarred by the sudden upheaval of her comfortable, safe life, and ended up spending more and more time away from the bask as it was healing to distance herself from the traumatic event. Unfortunately, it landed her in trouble - she was attacked, and ended up losing a toe before getting away with the help of her older sister Solveig.

It put a damper on her spirits for a while, and she had to re-learn how to walk with a significant amount of a weight-bearing toe now missing. Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately, she would not be healing alone. Splatterball was attacked by the bask's previous leader in a fit of rage, and badly wounded. She stuck by his side while he healed, and no longer likes to stray far from the bask's territory.

• Has a little collection of smooth, colourful pebbles and seaglass she’s collected from the shore
• Her favourite food is crab
• She’s not particularly good at swimming, preferring to keep her feathers dry if possible
• Has a slight limp and walks with her right kill claw touching the ground to make up for the loss of part of her right toe, which has ground the tip down to a more rounded shape
