Notable Traits
Strong, and on the taller side, but proportional to her size. Her feathers tend to get a bit scruffy if she doesn’t tend to them regularly, particularly her longer tail and wing feathers. She has a feather crest on her head, which is usually held low.

Solveig doesn’t tend to speak up much, particularly without the company of her immediate family - or in the company of her extended family. She would much rather listen to a conversation than be part of it.

She’s always been a mediator, and would rather find a solution to an argument rather than it lead to a fight.

History

Solveig started her life in the Shipyard bask, but she knows that her parents both have history outside it. Doruk always doted on them whenever he visited, often with her uncle Keket. Her mother, Signe, always made her love clear as well - but Solveig couldn’t help but feel pushed aside, or even less important, when her mother had another clutch with Splatterball not long after Solveig and her siblings.

Solveig loved her younger siblings, of course, and knows that they’re not replacing her - but still, she struggled. She ended up spending a lot of time with her brother - uncle? - Malachite when her parents were busy, and did her best to look out and tend to her siblings. Maybe that would gain her some lost affection.

Her inner turmoil worsened as time went on, but was pushed aside when the territory suffered an explosive catastrophe. She did everything she could to help the bask rebuild, and the event even saw the return of her father and uncle, who stayed for a longer time to help where needed. The bask even saw a turn for the better when there was a shift in leadership - Inspirational challenged Hyperion, and won.

It was during the time of recovery that followed that she noticed her younger sister Chalcedony begin to sneak away from the safety of the bask to do some exploring of her own. Solveig was at first furious with her - but then again, terrified, because Chalcedony was attacked. Solveig was able to drive the attacker away, but not before Chalcedony was maimed and lost a toe. As though this, combined with the explosion that rocked the shipyard wasn’t enough, Hyperion grew increasingly wrathful and violent, and attacked Splatterball, savagely wounding him.

It was devastating.

Solveig stayed as long as she could, but when Doruk and Keket made to leave to go wandering again, she implored that they take her with them. She needed to get away, to see more than these tragedies. She wanted to travel with her family, not stay and return to being a shadow.

Doruk seemed honestly pleased to have her join them, and their small pack grew.
