A friendship grew into a protective loyalty that grew into a fondness. A fondness that had settled warmly in Krait's heart - he was no longer a naive hatchling, he understood Cain's motives and yet,, he loved him all the same. He was content to remain the stalwart ally, confidant, and protector, never assuming his feelings would be reciprocated.

He would instead cherish the memories of the quiet hours, the hushed whispers and talks of hopes and dreams. That would be enough for him,,, wouldn't it?
