Having been trapped within the bowels of the labs, when Scythe and Sonya finally emerge into the real world, they find a massive lightning storm off in the distance as a downpour soaks them through. They would never forget their first moments of freedom, dripping wet and cold, startled by the crackling of looming thunder before the light broke through the darkness.
