Ruin had run as the rain began, run and just kept running, through the thick mountain sheet rain, and past the flashes of thunder. Roaring water poured down the mountainside, flooding as they went. Ruin felt like he would surely be swept down the rockface any minute, or crushed by a muddy landslide. Then a smell caught his nose, it reminded him of his mother, of safety. As he followed the smell, the storm closing around him, there began the remnants of a castle wall, a ruin, deep within the mountains, shielding him from the storm. It would become his home.
