As a sucho, an important part of their lives is learning how to swim, and Kodiak knew all too well how difficult it was with a full fluffing of feathers. She taught Ash from the beach first, how to keep herself neatly preened and tidy, to be hydrodynamic. It didn't take long for the young sucho to pick up on all the tips and tricks, though she would need far more practise - and to be quite a bit larger - before she could manage in the harsh tides
