"Are you always this... alone?" and "Where are your parents?" were questions often brought by strangers, as if it were really that weird that the two siblings were alone by themselves.
Buttercup had never meet anybody till he found his sibling, Honeydust trapped inside his rock. He helped him get free, and they had been inseparable ever since, but everybody else?
They're travelers, passing through.
Some of them are lost. Others just taking a pleasure trip around the dunes.
The twins managed well in the sandy dunes, the days went on easy, sunbathing and playing. They quickly found out chasing bugs for fun could become a way to fill their growling bellies, and later on, they found pleasure chasing bigger critters, small rodents and birds, even fish where the sand meet the ocean.
But all of them without exception, over the years since they were just babies has been shocked. What are you doing here? Where is your pack? What happened to your parents?
Do you never feel lonely?
Isn't it dangerous?
Aren't you afraid?
As they grew up, there were very little worries for them. The world these strangers spoke about was unknown, scary and intimidating.
But it managed to plant a small seed of curiosity in their heads. The stories they told, about bigger predators, about those who hunted from the sky, and the monsters that hunted in the water were retold between the two of them full of wonder and magic as they had never known that fear on their own skin.
