It all happened so fast... One minute he was happily eating dinner, the next he was being tossed aside as something lunged from the tall grass around him. By the time he finally realized what was even going on, the only thing Dorian could do was rear onto his hind legs, and honk in a potent cocktail of fear and alarm. The last memory Dorian would have of his mother would be her death at the jaws of a predator. While a noble action, sacrificing herself to protect her calf, reason and rational were always snuffed out by fear. The seeds of hurt had been planted, and a lifelong hatred driven by vengeance and pain began to take root.
