The first time, Fawnstep stumbled upon her alone and lost in a desert, and he realized she must be hungry and thirsty. So he ran off to find the sweetest, plushest grass and ran all the way back with arms and mouth laden with the food. Here, he's giving her the grass, but she's hesitant because he's ginormous and has very sharp teeth!
