Moss’s first year outside of the facility is full of new and surprising things. Her first winter outside she’s completely unprepared, the only shelter she knew was the dim grey walls underground. The cold creeps in quickly, chilling her small body. The whole herd was in crisis mode, desperately searching for a place to hunker down before the cold and snow became too much. Being only a few seasons old, Moss is rarely allowed out by herself, however with the herd distracted searching for shelter she’s able to go explore. Being the herd leader’s daughter often meant she felt the need to be helpful, and so she uses the short time she’s by herself to go in search of shelter for the herd. The deep, rocky valleys seem promising, so that’s where she starts.
