Shape and Placement
- Appaloosa layers on top of all other markings except Piebald and Curse.
- Creates white patches with sparse spots layered above.
- Most spots should be in the white patches or have a white halo but can form minimal stray spots.
- This marking cannot mimic other markings.
- This marking cannot have holes in it.
- Can be as small as you like; but must be recognisable as Appaloosa and have at least one spot.
- Het form must originate in the minimum range and stay somewhat connected to the 'source'.
- Hom form must have a patch in the minimum range but can have multiple unconnected 'sources'.
Color
- When Het, the white part of the marking must be a single color picked from the white swatch below.
-- When Hom, the white part can have a two-tone gradient, this second color must also selected from the white swatch. - When Het, spots must be a single color; either the same as the base color or any natural color that is darker than the base color.
-- When Hom, the spots can be two different colors, the second color follows the same rules as the Het spots do. - The spots can be affected by color modifiers, but the white part must always be from the white swatch.
